Chapter 50

“What they’re doing is mass murder,” I said, ignoring the tingling sensation of my pulse shooting through my arms and legs. I had to put the awful truth in concrete terms.

Alec jerked his arm through the air, and David became engulfed in a block of ice. David’s increased panting made an ax appear in his hand. Several taps then cracked the ice. It shattered into pieces.

I glared at Taylor. “I don’t know why you’re so oblivious. Do you think I’m lying?”

“I didn’t say that. So, please don’t put words in my mouth,” Taylor said.

“That’s what you’re implying,” I said.

Raquel tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. “Can we please not discuss politics and enjoy the duel?”

If only life were so simple.

“I agree with Raquel,” Stefan added.

I grunted, ignoring Stefan. “You baffle me, Taylor. I don’t understand how people can be so blinded because they’re so upset by the economy, that they’ll let anything else slide passed their notice.”
