Queen Vivian wagged a finger. “No need to be cynical, sis. You can still write poetry even though you’re busy. Look at me. I still have time to paint with Sirch.”

Queen Vivian seemed like the type of person who would have squashed Princess Anastasia’s creative side, rather than encourage it.

I couldn’t help but snicker. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as quiet as I had thought.

Queen Vivian glared at me. “Would you care to share a humorous story perhaps?”

“No. I just didn’t realize you had the time to paint, what with all the demands of your other duties,” I said, shaking my head.

“Well, I do, and I love the creativity of it. In fact, I met Sirch at a painting class several years ago. Didn’t I, dear?” Queen Vivian smiled at Sirch before she devoured the rest of her beef, which she washed down with more wine. She then poured herself another glass.

Sirch rubbed his forehead. “Stefan, Maximillian. You forgot to tell us how your time in Ramona was.”
