Chapter 83

I clicked my fingers, disappeared into a fog, and reappeared a few feet in the air above the spot where Queen Vivian had landed.

But her body wasn’t there.

Disappearing into another fog brought me back onto the cliff.

Anastasia, Raquel, and Stefan arrived in a poof of fog.

“What are you doing here?” I asked.

Stefan pulled me to him. “You can’t be reckless—I’d die if something happened to you.”

Raquel frowned. “Where’s Queen Vivian?”

“She drowned in the water,” I said.

Raquel looked at Anastasia and then at Stefan. “Which one of you is going to take over as ruler of Magnifico?”

Stefan shook his head back and forth. “Not me.”

“I want nothing to do with the monarchy either,” Anastasia said.

“The throne should go to you,” Stefan said, staring at me.

I snorted at his suggestion. “I don’t know anything about ruling.”

“It’s okay. You’ll learn.” Stefan patted my shoulder.
