Chapter 85

“Thank you for coming here today,” I said before Stefan placed the crown on my head.

Yeah. Being intoxicated by a superficial object was silly, but I wouldn’t do anything vicious; I wasn’t Queen Vivian. I just couldn’t get over how I was king.

“I’m sure many of you have questions about this transition of power. I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t without bloodshed. I worked with the Resistance to overthrow Queen Vivian but not out of a sense of anarchy. Doing so was a matter of necessity. As many of you know, nonmagical people were forced to register and then were sent to detention camps. At least those who weren’t killed on the spot by the secret police wolves. But now those people are free. Although some are still getting medical attention, while others have been cleared to go home,” I continued.

Nobody made a sound. They should have been happy about the people from the detention camps being free.
