Cillian and his family understood that the Monk was joking. He didn’t, however, think it was that funny. Cillian would murder Whalen himself if he could.

Maybe Muhaimin was right, after all.

But then, he could go back to prison. He had to remember that. There were more important things in life than getting revenge.

“Don’t guard the door yourself,” he warned. “Put somebody else there. Somebody big.” Even among Monks, there was some size disparity. “I mean it.”

Rapunzel blinked all of its eyes in unison. “You’re worried about me?”

“Absolutely. I worry about anyone that gets in his way.”

“I’ll be careful.”

“We will, too,” Jack said. He ushered Henri back into the apartment.

Cillian followed, but stopped at the door. “If he gets out, don’t approach him.”
