Chapter 10

Though maybe that was part of his problem. He never wanted to impose on anybody. He never wanted to impose himself on his wife or his boss. The one time he had thought to impose on anybody’s time, he had been rewarded with approximately four hours of the best sex he had ever had in his entire life. An important lesson to keep in mind—if he ever planned to be in a situation where it mattered.

But…in seven minutes that lesson wouldn’t matter.

Seven minutes.

It seemed like he should be doing something besides spending the last seven minutes of his life thinking about Chad. What else was he supposed to think about? He supposed it was different for everybody. Maybe some people thought about their children. Or their greatest achievements. What about the people who didn’t know they were about to die? They were just going on like they always did, living their normal lives, thinking their normal thoughts. And if this was like any other day, he would be thinking about Chad.
