Chapter 25

“Is it broken?” Alec asked.

Keeping the foot steady, Rowan prodded along the puffy side. “I don’t think so. I think it’s just sprained.” He put it down as gently as he’d picked it up and turned to the supplies he’d brought. “Get your jeans off so I can wrap it.”

Circumstances made any concerns about stripping down in front of Rowan ridiculous. Still, Alec moved as quickly as he could manage, grateful Rowan concentrated on unpacking what he needed rather than the scrawny legs of his patient. Once he had his sweats on, Alec laid back and let him work, closing his eyes to better deal with the pain that radiated from his ankle.

“Any ideas on how we’re going to explain this to all of them when they get back?” Rowan asked as he wound an Ace bandage around Alec’s foot.

“What’s there to explain? I twisted my ankle in the snow and fell.”
