Chapter 38

When he drifted off around dawn without another seizure, Rowan didn’t stop him. The last thing he saw was the gleam of peeking sunlight off those jewel green eyes. 10

“He needs to see a doctor.”

Rowan hadn’t meant to be so blunt about it, but when he walked into the kitchen and found the four of them eating breakfast like none of them had spent most of the night awake because of Alec’s seizure, he got more than a little annoyed.

It didn’t help that only Will and Alec even acknowledged what he said by pausing between bites of Cheerios and regarding him. The resemblance in that moment was eerie. The shapes of their eyes were exactly the same, as were the matching lines in their foreheads as their brows went up in questioning. Neither of them resembled Martin. He rarely gave Rowan the same esteem.

“Why do you say that?” Will asked.
