Chapter 82

“Which isn’t now.”

Alec had no response to that. Rowan supposed that was better than outright disagreement.

After a few minutes, Alec rolled his neck. “I’m calling Zander when we meet up in Miami. That way, we’ll know where he’s going to be.”

Wordlessly, Rowan nodded. The time for grand confessions was past. He watched the ghostly reflection of Alec walking back to Will before it faded and all he could see was the gray sky beating down on the grayer tarmac.

Disembarking the plane was the best thing Rowan had done in years. Never again, he vowed as he marched toward baggage claim. He would rather suffer through the exhaustion and nausea of teleporting than set foot on another plane in his lifetime.
