Chapter 95

The asshole recognized him as a threat. Good. Rowan just regretted he couldn’t shift in front of him and really make him piss his pants.

As far as he could tell, Will had barely slept, too intrigued by whatever Alec had shown him in the bedroom. Rowan didn’t ask. His focus had been on Alec and the way he quivered and clung to him once they stretched out on the couch together. Alec had fallen asleep on top of his chest, drowning Rowan in his scent, and though they both woke up stiff, Rowan wouldn’t have traded it for anything. The world was righting itself again. Alec was back to trusting him. That was all Rowan needed.

Father and son now sat at the small dining room table with Zander’s laptop and a few shoeboxes they’d brought from the bedroom. They were too busy arguing to notice the way Zander glared at them from the floor.

“We don’t have time to waste on lies,” Will said.
