Eli propped his elbows on the table and folded his hands pensively. “Well, I’m sure someone has already done it by now, but I’d like to try a ‘making someone breakfast’ scenario. Like, y’know, eggs and bacon sizzling in a pan, water boiling for tea or coffee, spreading butter on toast, maybe a little chopping fruit. I was thinking strawberries; they’re small but they’ve got texture so they should make a satisfying slicing sound without having to put too much pressure on the knife.”
Everyone nodded in agreement. “I’d listen to that,” Pat said.
“Me too,” Alexi chimed in. They hadn’t heard a making breakfast one before, but they could already feel the tickle in the back of their head listening to Eli’s description.
Eli got up. “I want to try something. Can I get a volunteer?”
