Chapter 35

“They’re bleeding slime?” Grace pulled a face.

“It’s the gun melting their intestines.” Ghurva held out his hand for Laura’s gun and she reluctantly handed it to him. He did something, and a magazine popped out of the handle. A few seconds later, he frowned. “You have seven bullets left.” With a snap, he pushed the magazine into place and handed the gun to Laura. She looked surprised, but pleased, about getting it back.

“Okay, three down.” Ghurva nodded. “My guess is that they’re eight, ten if we’re unlucky.”

“And we have seven bullets.” Carlo didn’t like those odds.

“We’re not gonna fight them.” Grace glanced down the corridor. “We’re going to steal their ship.”

Right. Carlo nodded. “How?” They weren’t far from the door now. They only needed to round one more corner.

“The how we need to figure out later.” Grace grimaced. “I think our main concern should be to get there as fast as possible and lock the door.”

“Agreed.” Laura raised the gun down the corridor. “Let’s go.”
