Chapter 6

“Check you out.” David’s glee at having something on Grant was painfully apparent. “I thought you’d be using Roughrider or one of those other hookup apps to find your next boy toy.”

Grant slouched back in his chair, giving up his efforts to retrieve the incriminating advertisement and embracing the humiliation sure to come. “That’s the whole problem,” he said. “I’m looking for someone other than a hookup or a boy toy. They just don’t seem to be looking for me.”

He could hear the plaintive truth lurking beneath his reply, and from the way David paused, Grant knew he heard it too. For all David’s haphazard ways, he was too sharp to miss that kind of painful honesty.

“Huh.” David pushed his dark rimmed glasses higher up his nose and read through the ad before he sat up, rubbing his hands together. “Let’s give this a whirl.” He pulled the nearest keyboard toward him, eager fingers inputting a series of commands.
