Only after Craig vanished into the kitchen did Grant think about how rude he was to stare after one man while he sat with another. He forced an interested expression on his face and looked back at his companion, whose watery blue eyes were no match for the intelligent, coffee-brown gaze of their waiter.

Today’s lunch date was named Mark. David had rattled off the last name when he gave him the information, but Grant forgot to write it down. Yes, after his first experience he let David talk him into picking his next match, and yes, Mark had potential, at least online.

A history professor at the local university, his profile indicated a desire for a long-term relationship rather than an interest in casual dating; a point in his favor. As for the rest, Grant enjoyed the specials on the History Channel and he had the education Mark indicated as a requirement in a potential partner. Close enough, right?
