Chapter 22

Erjon lifted her chin up with his finger. “I know that look in your eye. What are you thinking about?”

“I need to take care of Captain Neleos.”

“Keep that fire reigned in, Dri. You need to rest before we can deal with him.”

She motioned to the door. “You heard what the healer said! I’m fine. It’s a small cut.”

“Yes, but just because it isn’t visible doesn’t mean it is fixed.”

“I’m telling you, I’m fine.” She stood, and her cloak touched the floor. “I need to call a vote. We can’t allow him to intimidate our crew like this.”

“I don’t think their intentions matter at all right now! The fact of the matter is I nearly drowned because they wouldn’t give me a shield.”
