By the time he gets to Ryan’s house, he’s crying. Just what he needed, to lose this job. Another week and Bobby will find someone else, someone who will work cheaper, who will put up with his roaming hands, his bitter mouth. He should just tell the skate club he’s sorry, he can’t make it to State, spend the next week looking for another job. Who’s he kidding? There aren’t any businesses clamoring to sponsor him, he doesn’t have the money saved to practice the next few days, he’ll be stiff and out of shape by the first race in Atlantic City on Friday and he’ll let everyone down.
