Chapter 112

“No,” Jim shook his head, “I couldn’t tell if she was fae, human, or even actually standing in front of us. She was just…blank.”

Leven was not pleased when they told him they were sure the person they were after was Tina. She was another younger friend of his that he did not feel like losing. She also played the part of Aida, the title character, even as a younger student. Given the pattern of fear in the victims before their deaths, they were almost certain Tina was targeting Jennifer next.

There was practice that night and both Jennifer and Tina would be there. Jennifer was the other female lead in the play, Amneris, the Egyptian princess. Their scenes were often together, which meant they would be offstage together, too. Nathan and the others needed Leven to keep the people on stage occupied so they could make certain Tina was the culprit. A runic trap set up to look like spilled paint was an easy way to test if she was what she appeared to be before they confronted her.
