Chapter 83

Solrin was already downstairs waiting for him, whittling wooden stakes to use against the nach. He was wearing a navy button-down and another pair of cargos. Nathan figured the baggier wardrobe had to be because of all the bandages underneath. He really wanted to figure out what those were for.

“Hardy Boys already leave?” he asked Solrin as he nodded pleadingly at Alex for a plate of food. No one else was around quite yet this early.

“Yes, not long ago,” Solrin said, only briefly glancing up as he continued whittling. The shadow of a smile played on his face, though he didn’t make any remark concerning Nathan’s reference for Jim and Sasha. “It doesn’t look as though the weather will be favorable for us today,” he added.

Nathan looked toward the nearest window and could see how dark it was outside even though the sun should be almost risen by now. Overcast with a chance of rain. Typical.
