A MAN FROM ANCIENT TIME

"Don't be so rude toward an older person, Mich."

Felice's soft voice was like a calming breeze in the middle of an arid desert.

Azren didn't even know what to say upon hearing the young idol's blunt question. He knew that he had to say something to answer the question if he wanted to win the idol's trust. But, instead of answering the question proudly, the question shut his lips instantly.

Perhaps it was the reason why the people in Hell hated him so much, and even Lucifer gave him a cold shoulder because his heart was too soft and too weak.

As a demon, he should be fierce and stopped being a coward. Perhaps if he could change himself, he could gain his people's trust as well.

"I'm sure that I can work well even though I don't have any experience working as an assistant before."

His voice sounded so firm and certain all of a sudden, and it stunned both Michy and Felice. The sudden change in confidence was quite unexpected for them. Azren looked timid and powerless when he stepped into the penthouse for the first time, but suddenly his courage rose just because of Michy's question.

"How can you be so sure that you can work well despite not having any experience?"

Another question came out of Michy's lips, and Azren was seen to be thinking for a moment before he answered, "I've learned about you. I mean, I've learned about how you finally reached your fame now, and I've also learned about your activity as an idol. I know that you need someone to assist you every day, and I'm ready to be by your side 24/7."

His answer sounded like a bluff, and Azren didn't even know how could he arrange such a statement with full of confidence. He should thank Orgonel for telling him the details about Michy, and he should praise his human brain as well.

Michy and Felice looked startled by the answer, but the young idol kept his face straight as he spoke, "I think other people out there will be willing to be by my side 24/7 as well. What makes you feel special?"

Michy's arrogancy couldn't be compared with anyone he knew, and Azren couldn't believe that the young boy managed to put on a cheerful and friendly facade in front of his fans.

He didn't understand why Lucifer chose Michy as his target. Michy looked like a devil already, and it seemed that he didn't need to do anything to drag Michy away from the Angels' persuasion. Michy would likely go to Hell along with the demons even though he did nothing. He was a bad human already.

"You don't need to pay me. That makes me special, right?"

Azren couldn't find any better answer, so he offered free labor to the young idol.

"What?" Felice suddenly chimed in. "Why did you say that? I've read your application letter and know that you are currently jobless, so why do you want to work for Michy without getting paid?"

Azren just realized that his counterattack earlier might have raised a suspicion in the two humans' hearts, and he gulped heavily again. For a moment, he forgot that humans need money. He cursed his human brain for not giving him a proper guide.

"I mean..." The young demon tried to find the best clarification. "I can work for free for 100 days. You can see it as my training days. If you are not satisfied with my work, then you can fire me when the time is up."

Azren only needed 100 days to do his mission, and he would leave the human after he completed the mission. He didn't need to stick with the idol forever.

"100 days is more than 3 months." Instead of Michy, Felice was the one who responded to Azren's bargain. "If the public finds out that Michy doesn't pay his assistant's salary for more than 3 months, it can ruin Michy's reputation."

Azren faced another obstacle again. He thought that he would get accepted right away because he didn't have any competitors today, but both Michy and Felice didn't let him reach his goal easily.

Azren tried to work his brain again, and another lightbulb shone brightly above his head.

"How about you let me live here during the 100 days agreement? It can be seen as my payment."

Both the idol and the manager looked surprised by the demon's other bargain.

"Do you think we are stupid?" This time, it was Michy who replied. "You are a total stranger, but you want to live here with me? Do you plan to steal the valuable things in my house? You didn't ask for money because you want to rob me, right?"

Michy was still young, but he was far from stupid. He aced all subjects in school, and he was always in the top 10 among all students in his year.

Azren once again frowned deeply upon hearing the harsh accusation from the idol. He bit his lips as he was thinking that humans were such complicated creatures. He truly didn't need money, but how could he convince the humans?

"I..." He spoke again hesitantly. "Maybe I can leave my ID card with you? Or even my phone and my belongings?"

The demon looked so stupid when he asked the stupid questions. Felice couldn't help but burst into laughter.

"Are you a man from ancient time? Do you think you can assure us by leaving your ID card? And also your phone and your belongings? I'm sorry for being rude, but do you even have money in your wallet?"

Felice looked like a lady who was polite and didn't have the heart to say rude things toward him, but he was wrong once again. The lady suddenly took off her warm facade and became cold toward him.

Maybe it was just Felice's business instinct. She was a manager, and her orientation was money that would come from her artist's success.

Azren was on the verge of giving up, but he suddenly heard Michy speaking.

"I will let you live here with me."
