Eric woke up bright and early, and so did Harry, to begin their morning exercise session, it consisted of a number of non-equipment based activities, such as push ups and squats, which was then followed by nice run about the school grounds, it was refreshing.
After that was over they went inside to get their breakfast, Harry ate a full English and Eric ate, unsurprisingly, bacon.
"Are you exited for our first magic lesson ever" Harry asked happily, he was elated at the idea of magic, and so too was Eric but he kept his emotions under control so as to make sure he didn't look too much like a country bumpkin.
After breakfast was over it was finally time to go to their first lesson, and much to no one's surprise their first lesson would be…
"Potions, I wonder what that will be like, I have read some books on the subject but I haven't been able to practice anything practically unfortunately, god I'm so excited" Hermione said to Eric and Harry on their way to their potions lesson.
Hermione, because of her incessant talking hadn't been able to make any friends, because of this she tried to reach out to Harry and Eric, and since Harry was nice and Eric was happy to have Hermione on the team, she joined their little group.
Once inside they made there way to the seats at the back of the class and sat down waiting for the lesson to begin.
Snape entered ominously and started the lesson by taking the register, and like in the original he stopped at Harry's name.
"Ah yes" he said oddly, "Harry potter, our new… celebrity." After the strange pause Snape continued to call names off the register.
Once he had finished the register he continued with his little speech about the class being useless dunderheads only to finish this with a bit of questioning towards Harry on different potions information, however Harry was prepared.
"Potter!" Snape said suddenly "what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"
"It would make the draught of living death sir" Harry said confidently.
"Ok and what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?"
"Sir they are the same plant just with different names, and it also goes by the name of aconite"
"Hmph I guess your knowledge is about just about good enough" Snape said in an annoyed voice at not being able to make fun of Harry.
The rest of the lesson went rather uneventful, except Neville messing up that is. And all the subsequent lessons where also rather uninteresting, this was mostly because all of the information they were learning they had already gone over in their own time.
•••
A few days later, after waking up Eric and Harry noticed a poster on the wall that said
[flying lessons starting Thursday] it seemed interesting and so they were excited for it.
And then Thursday eventually came around and it was time to go fly. It was bright and early when they left to head to the field. Once there they saw some brooms placed neatly into rows and a woman standing with them they knew that they had to be in the right place.
"Well what are you waiting for?" She asked as everyone eventually walked up to the brooms, "everyone stand by a broom, come on hurry up."
Eric looked at the broom next to him thinking about whether they looked safe enough to fly, tge old and warped things really didn't, but he thought he would probably survive if he fell, hopefully.
"Stick your hand over the broom, and say 'up' nice and loudly" instructed Madam Hooch.
"UP!" Everyone said, and for Harry and Eric their brooms lifted instantly, but all the rest of the brooms kind of just lay there twitching as if desperately trying to lift off the ground, but unfortunately it seemed that even with all its power and determination it couldn't lift itself.
Eventually everyone's brooms did get into their hands, some maybe through some not so magical means, but who really cared.
"Now then, when I blow my whistle kick off from the ground, make sure to keep your brooms steady, rise a few feet off the ground and then come straight back down by leaning forwards slightly. Ok on my whistle three, two, on-" but before the whistle could be blown Neville like in the original story kicked off too early and rose up from the ground and kept going higher and higher seemingly uncontrollably.
"Come back!" Shouted madam Hooch as she ran after him, but unfortunately before Madam Hooch could save him Neville fell down to the floor breaking his wrist with a loud snap, madam Hooch had to take him to the infirmary.
This obviously lead to Malfoy picking up the remembrall which Neville dropped, this in turn lead to Harry going to get it and then getting called in by McGonagll and becoming the Gryffindor seeker, it all happened very fast.
Later in the day in the dining hall.
"So you became seeker huh, well done" Eric said.
"Yeah it's very cool, apparently I'm the youngest seeker in a century" Harry said ecstatically.
"Having a last meal potter? When you going back to the muggle world then?" Said a very arrogant sounding Malfoy.
"Not anytime soon, how about you, did the public finally get informed about you being an inbred yet?" Eric asked mockingly.
"You want to fight huh, I'll go anyplace anytime whatcha say, up for a duel Eric, or are you too chicken." Malfoy said sounding extremely stupid.
"Sure, where and when?"
"Trophy room, midnight."
And so the stage was set for the next part of the story, to unfold.
•••
It was midnight and Eric and Harry had just arrived at the trophy room. Everything was quiet, a bit too quiet, ominously quiet.
"You don't think he wouldn't come do you?" Hermione asked curiously, she had hitched along after asking them to stop but failing.
"I don't know maybe" Eric said knowing full well that Malfoy wasn't coming.
Suddenly the voice of filch could be heard very close by and it was getting closer.
"Quick run" Eric whispered to Harry and Hermione.
Running as fast as they could to get away from filch, they weren't looking where they were going and so ended up on the right-hand side of the third floor, and where blocked by a old looking wooden door, Eric tried to open the door, but it was locked.
"Alohomora" Eric said with a flourish of his wand and the door unlocked with a click, they then rushed inside and closed the door behind them. They were all panting heavily after running for so long, well Hermione was panting Eric and Harry were fine as they did more than three times that amount every morning.
Unfortunately shortly afterwards a low ominous growl came from behind them, the growl sounded rough but it was at the same time like a symphony because all three heads growled at once.
But fortunately in the end the encounter ended not all to badly, the only thing that was a bit inconvenient was Eric's head almost being bitten off, not nice, but all in all the story had progressed and no one died, so all's well that ends well as they say.
