"What's the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you?" Tom suddenly asks while "tutoring".

"What does that have to do with Physics?" I ask, but I'm smiling.

"Nothing, but I was wondering," he answers. "And I think we should know these things. I mean, we've been dating for over two weeks. By now we should know everything about one another."

My eyes widen as I realize I can find out what Tom's hiding. "Okay, fine," I say. "My most embarrassing thing? Umm… oh, god. The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me was during my first year of middle school. It was almost the end of the year, and our school had organized a day where tenth graders would play sports: Ping-Pong, volleyball or soccer. I was on the volleyball team.

"One day, one of our teachers was absent, so we had a substitute. And in that exact lesson, my teammates had decided to draw down designs for our team shirt.

"Finally, the sheet with all the drawings arrived at me, and I was looking down to vote one when a classmate called my name. I looked over to him and then looked up in front of me. The substitute teacher was right in front of me. I mean, like, right in front of me. I was so startled I jumped on my seat, which gave the whole class a big laugh."

"That rhymed," Tom comments. "But that's not important. And that's funny, but not really embarrassing."

"Well, I'm very cautious, so I don't have a better story to tell you," I say. "But now it's your turn. The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you."

"Okay, I guess the most embarrassing thing is when I went to the library, about two years ago. I had gone there to study, and my mother told me that I should call her when I was done. So, I stayed there two hours studying, when my phone started blaring out "Back in Black" by AC/DC. In the library. "

I laugh. "That's really embarrassing. And I didn't know you liked AC/DC."

"I don't really, I just listen to it because… I'm going to sound like such a geek now… it's the soundtrack from Iron Man."

"First of all, never, ever, ever be ashamed of being a geek. Second of all… YOU'RE A MARVEL FAN?"

"Of course I am! Are you?" he asks, smiling.

"I'm the biggest Marvel fan ever!" I exclaim. "I've seen every single movie multiple times! Who's your favorite Avenger?"

"They're all awesome, but if I have to choose, I'll go with Iron Man. You?"

"Spider-man," I say without hesitation. "He's awesome. And Tom Holland is super-hot."

"Hey," Tom complains. "He's not hotter than me."

"Well…" I say.

"Oh, shut up," he says, smirking.

I start laughing, then continue our conversation. "Have you seen all the movies?"

"Yes, except the last one that just came out. Avengers: Endgame."

"Oh, that movie is freaking amazing! We can watch it together if you want." I propose.

"Sure," Tom answers. "When and where?"

"How about… my house, tomorrow at four? We can go out and eat afterward."

"Yeah, that sounds great," he says. "And maybe later we can-" he starts to say when he's interrupted by my mother walking in.

"Hello, guys. How's tutoring going?" she asks.

I glance at Tom before answering. "It's going great, actually."

"That's good, but is it okay if you finish a bit earlier today?" she says. "I forgot that you have a doctor's appointment today, Emma."

"I do?" I ask. "Oh, okay. Yeah, it's fine. Can we just do the last exercise?"

"Yes, of course. Just be ready to go at five."

"Okay, mom. Thanks."

My mother closes the door as she exits the room, and I chuckle. You see, I kind of have been lying to her. My mom still thinks that I'm tutoring Tom, while instead we just talk (and kiss a few times). I still haven't told her that I'm in a relationship, and I don't know how she'll react.

"It's four forty-five," Tom says. "Should we wrap this up?"

I smirk. I knew exactly what he meant. "Yes."

He smiles as I go and sit beside him on the couch. Without warning, I lean in and kiss him on the lips. Immediately I give him access to my mouth, my tongue. I give him control over me, and it's pure bliss. I suck on his bottom lips gently as I grab onto his hair, tugging at it slightly, and I hear him groan. He places his hands around my waist and pulls me closer, so close that my breasts are pushed against his strong chest.

I moan with pleasure, and I feel him smile before pulling away. "That was the best yet, huh?"

"That was amazing," I whisper, still out of breath. Every time Tom comes over for "tutoring", we finish the hour with a make-out session. It's pretty refreshing.

"I should probably go," he says. "Promise me we'll do this again after the movie."

I laugh. "Yes, for sure. Bye Tommy."

"Bye Nerd."

He leaves as I'm still sitting on the couch, reliving that kiss. It really was spectacular. It was a real turn-on.

"Emma? Is he gone?" I hear my mother ask. She walks into the room and I stand up to look at her.

"Yeah, he just left," I say. "I'll get ready to go."

"Don't," she says. "I was lying. There's no appointment."

"What? Then why did you send him away?" I ask. "Is there something wrong?"

"No, not really," she says. "I just wanted to talk to you about something."

I sit back down. "About what?"

She sits beside me. "I know."

I scrunch my eyebrows together. "You know… what?"

My mom rolls her eyes. "Come on. I see the way he looks at you," she says, and I realize what she's talking about. "And I see the way you look at him."

"Mom, I'm so sorry I didn't tell you. I didn't want to make a big deal about it." I tell her.

"Emma, don't worry about it," she says calmly. "It's okay to have a boyfriend, you know."

"Then… what did you want to say?" I ask.

"I know first romances can be exhilarating and amazing and mesmerizing. And I know that the first few weeks, if not months, you'll be distracted. I just want you to be careful. I know how it feels."

"You do?" I ask.

"Yes. I had a high school boyfriend. We were very much in love."

"What happened?" I ask.

"Not important," she says. "But it didn't end well. I was depressed for weeks. I stayed in my room for weeks, crying. I barely ate anything." she sighs. "It was very hard for me. I don't want you to go through the same."

"I won't mom," I say. "Tom is really special. He's… he's the man of my dreams."

"That's good, but… don't raise your expectations too high, okay? That's all I'm asking." she says.

"Yes," I promise. "Okay."

"Great," she stands up to leave when she turns around with a smug smile on her face. "Just so you know, he seemed to really enjoy that kiss, if you know what I mean."

My eyes widen as I realize, and I cover my face with my hands. "OH MY GOSH, MOM!" I exclaim.

"I'm sorry! I was coming down to call you and I saw you guys kissing, and I couldn't help but notice…"

"MOM! Please stop talking!"

"Fine! Sorry!" she says, then whispers. "But good job."

"Ugh!" I say loudly, before covering my ears. After a few seconds, I open my eyes and see that my mom has left. I'm still really embarrassed, but a little bit of joy is able to crawl into my feelings. I was able to turn on the hottest guy in school. I smile tugs at my lips. I am so going to tell the girls about this.
