Part of His World

"I'm accepting your proposal. I'll stay," Ercilia declared in all seriousness before Drystan could even have a chance to breathe. 

His heart leaps at the words, his mind winding each letter. Even she can tell how he's feeling at that moment. His face shows it all, marked with joy and triumph.

And she hates to ruin it, but she wants to keep herself on track, so she continues with, "But it doesn't end with that, right? In fact, that's just the beginning." 

The sheen in her eyes turns into mist. His expression dims. 

"I'll be getting a lot of criticisms from the others. Becoming a part of your world is probably as hard as getting out of mine. I might even risk dragging you down."

Drystan can only watch and listen. Ercilia makes an apologetic look. 

"Sorry. I must sound like a brat right now, complaining about all these things," she begged him pardon, and he shook his head.
