A Brighter Tomorrow

Drystan remembers the light that is Ercilia during those dark times.

Among everything that happened, she's the one he's reminded of the most. The memories of her face, her smile, her voice, her laughter, and her touch – it all made the past lighter to bear, the reality easier to accept. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have made it this far.

She was right when she said that he wasn't completely free, but that's only because he was entirely set on getting back to her side once more. So long as she's still out there somewhere, he didn't want to move on, and he knew he couldn't.

"If it means a future with you, the past is worth going through," Drystan remarked, and Ercilia flushed.

His eyes soften at the sight of her flustered reaction. She looks even more endearing when she tries to hide it.

"You know what? You're right…" she began calmly, picking up a box of matches.
