Going Off Track

Everything is starting to become too much.

The noise. The crowd. The smell. The atmosphere.

But the worst is when Ercilia saw Iorwerth again.

Her ex-husband who's supposedly dead. Her ex-husband who'd reportedly died in the fire.

'No, this can't be. It's all just probably in my head. Please, let it not be.'

Ercilia needs a way out, so she runs down the corridor, no longer waiting for Giselle, who has gone back to the banquet for a moment.

The partying crowd in the main hall flickers on and off. Ercilia can't hear the cheers, the loud music, and soon, the fireworks. The present gets drained out by memories of the past.

What she hears are screams. What she sees are corpses.

What she smells is smoke and burnt flesh, searing her senses.
