A Child as a Sergeant

"They're on their way," Mikhail told his superior.

Samuel looked behind Mikhail to see the rest of the squad cutting up the bushes that separated Samuel and his squad in the first place. They were cutting the bushes down with pocket knives, just creating enough pathways for them to walk through.

The child just ignored what he had forgotten and decided to work with the memories he had now. With whatever he had left, he divided the squad into two again and left for different ways. This time, they stuck together so no one would get lost.

Samuel led his squad to the other side of the bushes, where they could hear gunshots and see a couple of soldiers hiding and covering themselves from the shower of bullets. Samuel gestured to his squad with his fingers, and they all ducked down at his orders, shielding themselves with a slightly inclined ground and rocks along the soldiers.
