Carrying On

"If we look back, we see a lot of conflict. These conflicts seem to arise when we fail to find a purpose within our long, long, long lives. Is it that hard to live long? All we are supposed to do is to strengthen our bonds and carry the bloodline further. How hard can that be?

I have lived a long life. I have seen my fair share of joy and sorrow but have learned to live with it. Just imagine, fellow brothers and sisters. We were given this special trait for a reason. If we cannot find it in our era, all we have to do is pass our blood further and let the future generations take off.

Life is still lived, even without a purpose. Burning one's creed is not the answer to eternal peace. I am different. I have no reason to burn my creed down to ashes." Nancy read the lines of the journal.
