Dark History

Nancy stared at the ceiling above her as she thought about what to ask. She wasn't exactly sure what was happening, but somehow, her head wasn't flooded with questions like it usually is.

"Amy," Nancy said, "Tell me I'm dreaming."

Amy quietly listened to her as she stayed on the bed right beside Nancy.

"The man from yesterday," Nancy continued, "He looked so fucking depressed when I told him I didn't remember him." She said in a concerned voice, "And for some damn reason, it hurts."

"Of course it does." Amy replied, "You were very close to him, much more closer than you are to me." She added, "But I bet he understands that. So, don't worry too much and focus on recovering."

"But he left." Nancy sighed.

"He left because he needed time to process everything. Let him be." Amy explained.
