Chapter Fifty-Eight

Ryan's POV

I spent some time at the party and then I entered a cab to the family Mansion.

It's good to finally be home.

"Welcome back brother, the crushes suits you." Robert said immediately I entered the house.

"Where is Dad?" I asked ignoring his mocking expression.

"In his office, he seems very happy about something" Robert said.

"He's happy because his son is back safely." I said as I began to walk towards dad's office.

"I won't keep my hopes up if I were you!" Robert yelled but I ignored him.

I knocked on the door.

"Come in come in" I heard Dad's voice and I quickly opened door.

"I'm back Da...."

"Did you watch the news Ryan?" He asked immediately I walked in with my crutches.

"Wha... what news?" I asked.

"Alexander Sanchez, turns out he's suffering from hand tremors so his medical license is going to be revoked, he won't be a surgeon anymore" he said.

"Oooh" I said.

"What's wrong Ryan, this is supposed to be good news." 

"You.....you didn't even notice I am on crutches, I managed to return safely from a war zone but all you care about is Alexander Sanchez."

"Why are you suddenly behaving like a kid Ryan, we just achieved something great, we should be celebrating" he said.

"I'm tired, celebrate alone" I said and went out.

"I told you not to keep your hopes up." Robert said laughing and I just hissed and went away.

Alex's POV

🗨️Come to my office straightaway!" The director said and ended the call.

What's all this?

How did this happen?

I quickly took my car keys and drove to the hospital.

"Welcome back doctor Alex" Nurse Chloe said but I just waved her aside.

I took the elevator straight to the Director's office.

I knocked, then opened the door.

Emma was already there with the Director.

"Director..."

"What the hell is all this Alex?" He yelled.

"You had hand tremors? How could you hide such an important thing from me? You deceived us all! How on Earth were you even able to pass your medical exams?"

"I can explain director."

"Your explanation holds no value Alex, you know the rules, your medical license is revoked as from this moment, you are no longer a surgeon, you can go pack your stuffs from your office before leaving." The director said with a tone of finality.

"Come on, you can't do this to me Director, you can't. I am good at my job and you know that, the hand tremors have never been a problem when it comes to discharging my duties and it will never be." 

"It's already a problem Alex, no one will put their life on your hands now that they no that your hands may fail you at anytime. The hand tremors prevent you from discharging your duties effectively and I certainly won't put any patient's life in danger just because of your selfish greed to continue working here." 

"But Director..."

"Miss Griffin, please escort Mr Alexander Sanchez out of my office." The director said turning to Emma and she stood up.

I sighed and walked out of the office with Emma.

"I think I know who did this Emma, it was the Prime Minister, I went to confront him at his house some hours ago and he threatened to make me regret it. He's definitely responsible for this, that cunning old man, how on Earth did he know about my hand tremors. Now he's ended my career that I worked so hard for, I am definitely going to kill him. He has done enough, I don't care if I go to jail, I am going to kill him."

"Just shut up!" Emma yelled. "Is this all a joke to you? You think all this is a joke right?"

"Of course not Emma, what are you saying?"

"I warned you Alex, I warned you to keep your cool but what choose not to listen to me. Immediately we landed in London, you went and blabbered everything you know to the Prime Minister. We were going to use the element of surprise Alex, the Prime Minister was never supposed to know you've found out anything but you spoilt everything instead. And now, you can't even practice your job as a doctor anymore, you are absolutely useless to me now." She said and started walking away but I held her hand.

"I made a mistake Emma..."

"Yes you did!" She yelled. "You were so stubborn that you refused to listen to me, you never listen to anyone cause you always feel you are right. I spent more than five years working on this plan Alex but you ruined everything in a day, do you know how I suffered all those years? The only thing that kept me going was the thought that I was going to get my revenge one day but you just ruined that. I never want to see you again Alex, it was my fault for involving you in the first place." Emma said and walked away while I just stood dejected.

What have I done?

I took the elevator to the third floor and bumped into Tony.

"I was looking everywhere for you man, today was supposed to be a day of celebration cause you guys returned from that war zone safely but how the hell did your hand tremors ended in the news?" Tony asked.

"I have no idea Tony." 

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"To get my stuffs, I've just been sacked and my medical license revoked." I said as I walked towards my office.

"Alex..." Tony called sadly.

"I want to be alone please." I said as I entered my office.

Well, I guess this won't be my office anymore.

I can't believe this is happening.
