Chapter 9

Yi Shuyan was seated at a table near her bed writing poetry. She wanted to calm her mind after yesterday's events. The more you hide from the truth is the more it comes back. Running away from one's problems doesn't make them go away, it just creates a fake sense of relief in your mind. The real problem stays.

Come sit here,she pointed at the edge of the bed which was opposite her seat.

Yue Ling sat and she automatically got a good view of Yi Shuyan 's face,she seemed a little weary and pale. She waited for her mother to speak.

"Do you blame me for leaving your father and the Lin family?"Yi Shuyan asked.

"I don't regret leaving,so should you."Yue Ling would have blamed Yi Shuyan if this was her past life. As of now she didn't want to be around people such as those, it now rung a bell as to why her mother was behaving strangely.

Yi Shuyan laughed for a while but tears were falling from her eyes. She was happy and these tears weren't those of sadness. This reply was one she had never expected from Yue Ling since her daughter had distanced herself from her when they left the Lin family. Pride and anger had filled her heart before to the point where she thought that since Yue Ling is a child,her opinion didn't matter and she would follow whatever she decides as she is the mother. This brought about a huge gap in their mother daughter relationship as Yi Shuyan dictated Yue Ling's life and Yue Ling chose silence and stopped communicating.

"Your grandmother called,she said I'm filling your heart with hatred and that is why you don't reach out to them,"Yi Shuyan added on. Madam Lin didn't know that Yi Shuyan was from a wealthy and powerful background and had a biased heart, she naturally hated her former daughter in law and granddaughter.

"This has to do with Grandfather's last will," Yue Ling replied.

Yi Shuyan was stunned and wondered how Yue Ling got to know,she didn't tell Yue Ling about the inside matters of the Lin family and Yue Ling wasn't old enough then to know about that.

"They haven't looked for us for nine years, has any of them ever contacted you mother,"

Yi Shuyan clenched her fists but didn't reply;

"No body should make you lose yourself especially those who have never been there for you, we don't owe them anything but they owe us. Since they are reaching out to us,we will get whatever belongs to us."

The Elder of the Lin Family was a fair and principled man, in his will, his son - Yue Ling's father, daughter in law - Yi Shuyan and granddaughter (s) Lin Yue Ling and Lin Meilin were receiving shares of the hospital. His daughter and wife were not capable and he knew it. Regardless of where Yi Shuyan came from,he acknowledged her in the family and even supported them after they left.

Unfortunately,he died four years ago.

Yue Ling's father and stepsister had their inheritance but the other members of the family weren't okay with Yue Ling and her mother getting inheritance and not even coming home after the elder died.

Yi Shuyan was happy that her daughter had grown up both physically and mentally. They just sat there for a while.

Yue Ling left her mother's room and went to hers.

She got her phone and called someone,"Hello Dr. Bai."

"Lin, is that you,"the other voice sounded anxious.

"It's me, I need you to push through with the beginning plan," Yue Ling said.

"The one involving the Lin family right? ,"he asked.

"After that I need you to make sure that no one can access my information, leave only the basics ,"she added on.

"I'm capable enough, how are you doing there?"

"How do you think?"she answered jokingly.

"Hehe, okay bye,"he hung up.

If there was anyone who had the guts to offend Yue Ling it'd be Dr. Bai.

Aunt Xu came and knocked at Yue Ling's door,she came to call her for lunch. She was happy that her boss was in a better mood. Yi Shuyan had even personally cooked lunch today. Yue Ling agreed and came downstairs in a few minutes.

She was welcomed by Yi Shuyan 's enthusiastic mood at the dinning table. It showed by the way her mother's eyes were shinning and the wide smile on her face. She sat near Yi Shuyan.

"Ling, try the mushroom soup," she said while putting some into Yue Ling's plate.

Yue Ling obligated and it tasted good so she ate ate more of it. She ate everything her mother put on her plate because judging by the way Yi Shuyan was behaving,she had prepared the meal. It was a way of showing her love to her daughter.

Aunt Xu was standing aside smiling at the scene. Yi Shuyan had invited her to eat with them at the table but she declined. She wanted them to have their own moment.

Yi Shuyan understood that and didn't nag about, Aunt Xu was more like a companion. She knew all about Yi Shuyan, when Yue Ling wasn't around, Aunt Xu ate with her so that she'd eat more. She was also her support when she got married and severed ties with her father.

Han Li was sweating despite how cool the weather was, he was well trained but he still couldn't survive being in this situation though he had been through it many times. Being a mediator between these two would leave you mad.

"Do you think you can just disappear then come and go at will,"he spoke as he threw his stick at the man.

"Getting angry isn't good for your age, it's all good as long as I come back," he spoke calmly.

"Lehan, you brat,if you cared about me sincerely,you wouldn't keep endangering your life,"he spoke sternly.

"I hope you understand me,"Lehan said.

What followed was silence.

The old man couldn't stand the silence and sighed deeply. He could never be angry with his grandson no matter what he did.

"Little Li, get Lehan's room prepared,"he spoke.
