Yi Shuyan could no longer avoid her father. When everything was cleared, Elder Yi had a talk with her. He was okay with anything as long as she talked to him. Everything they talked about revolved mostly about the well being of the family, Yi Rong asking about how Yi Shuyan's life had been throughout the years and nothing more.
The family members started leaving the room to let Yi Zhoujan rest leaving only Bingbing in the room to take care of her father. She gladly stayed back so Lu Ximei had to leave too.
Yi Rong needed to check how things were going with the patients and the records Yiren made so he went with Yiren. He trusted Yiren's abilities but he simply needed to pass time or give hints for improvement.
Yi Shuyan and Lu Ximei went somewhere else outside to talk a bit and Yue Ling decided to have a stroll too before she went to meet the Min Family with Lehan.
"Ximei, is Lehan a son of one of your brothers," Yi Shuyan asked. Before, she saw two young men who had come to meet her brother. It was Lehan and Han Li. She was intrigued by Lehan because he was a nephew of her friend. He was also accompanying Yue Ling today.
Yue Ling suddenly felt rooted to the ground. She couldn't to leave after she heard that. Yue Ling really needed to know more about him. It would sound weird if she started asking for details from others. This was an opportunity for her to know everything she needed to know. She just decided to stand quietly and avoid making a sound.
"He isn't, it's very complicated Shuyan" she spoke. The memories kept moving through her mind.
Lu Ximei decided to tell her friend about Lehan's story.
The first day he arrived at the Lu 's home was about twenty years ago when Yiren was around five years old, the two were the same age. Lu Ximei had gone to visit her father.
The boy was traumatized and didn't speak or get close to anybody. It took a while for him to start playing with Yiren and talking to others but he has never spoken about his experience to anybody.
Elder Lu was indeed Lehan's grandfather because he was a son of his sister. He was a Lu to.
Elder Lu (Lu Kang) had a sister called Lu Jingli. He always believed she was deceived by the Fengs' to the point where she fought against her own family. Lu Jingli got married without the consent of her parents.
Everybody knew how bad the Fengs' were. The parents even attempted to harm Lu Jingli's groom before the wedding but that further drifted them apart when Lu Jingli got to know to the point where she swore to cut ties if anybody got involved with her business. She was completely blinded which Lu Kang later found out because she was pregnant. He tried to convince her to come back as they would help take care of the baby but she refused.
She had the idea that her husband would make her happy and she convinced him into believing the same.
After the wedding, Lu Jingli and her husband left the country. This wasn't off because the Fengs' did business abroad. But, for over thirty years, she never once met her family let alone contact them.
One day, she called Lu Kang and sounded scared and ill because her voice was so hoarse and barely audible. She asked him for forgiveness over and over. Lu Jingli pleaded with him to find her daughter, Feng Linyang. The conversation was depressing and she kept on talking about the past. She never once spoke of her illness despite how many times Lu Kang asked.
Lu Kang decided to confront the Fengs' to find out where his sister was when he got to know she was ill and had passed on. According to them, she was suffering from a chronical illness and was having delusions. She never once had a daughter like she told him. Lu Jingli had only given birth to only two sons.
Lu Kang decided to sue them and afterwards, court proceedings began.
The Fengs' were proven not guilty because of the several witnesses they had, the doctors who treated Lu Jingli, the house workers and many others. The Lu's were merely basing on assumptions and the only basis was a phone call. A delusional person could have been making up stories.
Lu Kang could have gotten revenge after that but it could affect his reputation if things went wrong. The Fengs' had a backer who was certainly at par with the Lu's if Lu Kang's investigation was fruitless despite how much he tried.
After about a year of investigating about his niece, he got to know where she was living and that was where he met Lehan, living alone.
The DNA tests supported the fact that they were related to each other.
The friend of his niece who had led them to Lehan said Feng Lingyan run away from home because she was forcefully being married off when she loved someone else.
The treatment at home was also bad for both her and her mother. This friend didn't know who Lehan's father was because she wasn't told.
The friend could only help with finding Lehan but she feared to testify in court for her security. This wasn't even enough evidence to incriminate anybody.
The lady was the only one who seemed to know Feng Linyang.
Lu Kang also thought about it and realized it was better if Lehan was raised by him. The Fengs' could do anything to take him away or harm him.
Lu Kang decided that it was better to keep investigating till he found his niece and gotten enough evidence to give justice to his sister.
That was how Lehan ended up living with them. He had grown up to be a successful, strong and upright man unlike who he could have become if he grew up as a Feng.
Lu Ximei knew that her father was happy to have someone who was a part of his sister. He regretted his negligence and had made up for it through Lehan.
Yi Shuyan felt bad but she was now sure the man wasn't bad because of how highly Lu Ximei thought of him.
Her friend rarely appreciated someone and it took alot of effort.
Meanwhile, Yue Ling felt bad for judging Lehan. He had grown up without parents.
Her suspicion about him colliding with the Fengs' was also erased.
