"Are you okay? Are you hurting? Should I get you some water? Do you ne-"
"Calm down, would you? I'm not dying." Emanuel said with a laugh, cutting her off.
"I'm just worried…" she replied, her voice just a little above a whisper while looking on her feet into which Emanuel's face softens.
"Tsegereda…" her head shot up fast when he called her by her full name. "You don't need to worry, okay? I'm fine now… or at least I'll be fine in a few days." With that, he lifted his left arm and hugged her, to which she wrapped her arms around his waist.
'NO! Don't cry!' she said to herself. She blinked rapidly, and it finally worked.
Their sweet moment was cut short when the physician's house door was burst open to reveal the one and only Ras Zemede with a concerned face.
"Are you okay?" was the first sentence that came out of Ras Zemede's mouth.
"Yes, I'm okay."
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you but you protected my daughter instead… so as a reward you will be an instructor. You will watch when the kids train and give an objection when something is wrong in your eyes. Don't move a lot since they hurt you."
"First, it's okay, and it's my duty to protect you daughter from danger even if it means I'll get hurt and also thank you for giving me this work and you won't be disappointed." Emanuel replied in a firm voice.
While all this happening, Wolde Samuel is in the forest scolding the people who were helping him fight.
"I asked you… to not get anyone from Gojjam people get hurt and you couldn't do that? Huh?"
"We are sorry, my lord, but we didn't see that coming but may I ask you something?" said one warrior and continued with his question when Wolde Samuel gave him a nod.
"Why did you want us to protect the Gojjam people? They are our enemies. They are planning something to get back on your father."
"Don't you think I know that? Also, I know what I'm doing so don't ask questions like that ever again." With that he walked away from them to the cottage he found not so long ago and had his first ever argument with someone except his father.
*Flash back few hours*
He was thinking how he is going to get information from the leader of Gojjam when he heard a steady three knocks.
He got up from his chair and walked up to the door. He opened the door, coming face to face with Tsege, who had her hands behind her back.
"What are you doing?" he asked, walking back to where he was before she knocked.
"To give you this." She said, then placed the paper her father told her to give it to him.
He picked it up and bring it close to his eyes enough to read. "So I'm the trainer?" he asked.
"Looks like it." There was a moment of silence while he was reading, and she just stared at him.
"What happened?"
"What do you mean by 'what happened'?" he asked back.
"What happened to you that day… the day you first came here hurt and passed out?" she rephrased the question.
"None of you business."
"It is my business when it comes to my land."
He surged and ignored her.
"I'm talking to you… answer." he again ignored her. "Answer…" she again said with a stern face.
'Why is he being childish?' she asked herself.
She was quiet for a while until… "ANSWER ME!" making him jump on his sit and fall to the ground.
Tsege snorted when he fell to the ground but composed herself even though her face is turning red when she is trying to hold her laughter, keeping a straight face. But she lost it when she saw him scrawling and grumbling at the same time.
'I bet he wants to put his head into the ground like an Ostrich.'
"I'M NOT EMBARRASSED!" he yelled, glaring at her.
'I said that loud?'
"YOU ARE STILL THINKING OUT LOUD!"
"Okay, I'm sorry," she said, laughing.
"No, you're not!"
She was about to say she is sorry again and she meant it, but he cut her off.
"You just say sorry, but you don't mean it! You always middle into other's business when it's none of yours! HA!" he scoffed and continued. "No wonder you and Emanuel are engaged. You two seem to get along, since you two are always curious. I bet you both made your parents suffer! And stop being immature! For once, grow up!" he finished his insult, breathing hard.
Tsege couldn't make a sound; she was shocked.
"What are you looking at?! Get out!" he yelled.
She frowned and turned her back to him, then left the cottage after scoffing at him. She was angry; beyond angry.
'How could he say that?!
Immature? He thinks I'm immature?
How dare he?!' she went straight to the lake where Emanuel and her stay at when the need the calmness of the water and it actually worked.
She calmed down after sometime concluding that she doesn't care what he says about her but on the other hands, Wolde Samuel was in the cottage breathing hard because of his anger.
'How could she laugh at me?'
But after he calmed down his thoughts took One Hundred Eighty degree turn.
'Why did I say that?
I shouldn't have said that!
Immature? She isn't immature!
What have I done?'
He said that to himself. He is already regretting it already.
Another knock came and this time he replied with a 'Come in' instead of getting up and answering the door like he did a while ago to Tsege.
One of the guards that is sent by his father came in with a sour face.
"My lord, there seems to be a problem here…" he trailed off and Wolde Samuel got the message the guard was trying to tell.
"Prepare for a fight and tell the others to protect the people of Gojjam no matter what. Also, we need to cover our faces when we fight because people might see up." With that he walked out of the cottage to where the guards saw the other people come from with the help of his guards.
*Flash Back Over*
He was smiling like a fool when he was thinking about Tsege laughing at him when he fell off the chair, but his smile turned into a frown when he remembered what he has said to her.
He couldn't forget her hurting face when he was saying those words.
He shook his head and said, 'I shouldn't be feeling bad… I don't apologies to anyone… I will not apologies to her… should I?'
