As days went by like this, my delivery day came. Mei Mei was more nervous than usual. She cross-checked everything. She dismissed every court lady working in my chamber. She looked so tensed, and she didn't let any official see me. There were only Ju Long, Mei Mei, and the royal physician with me. We reached midnight; it was a full moon day. 


"Your highness, please bear with this pain. It will be over soon." She cried as I held her hand tightly. As we all heard the sound of war alert. 


"I knew this would happen. Your highness?" Mei Mei looked at Ju Long worriedly. 


"I can’t trust anyone other than you. Take care of her highness. I will be back." He said this as he left, as I cried in labour pain. I could hear the sound of rain pouring. I felt chills spreading throughout my body. 


"Her highness body is getting cold. She is losing her consciousness." The royal physician said as Mei Mei tried to rub my hands and feet quickly to make me warm.
