Tahirza

The Great Kingdom of the Chibchas has solidified thanks to the efforts of its peaceful inhabitants. It extends from the snowy mountains, through the great plateau and reaches the low plains. All is joy, prosperity and harmony. But a latent danger slowly looms. The succession of the kingdom that is not defined, making appear ambitions of the neighboring tribes and that of an ambitious being that surpasses them all. The Great Sun Inca, in spite of his immeasurable wealth, also covets the Chibcha riches.

--We must analyze,"-- thought the terrified girl. 


--Yes," --said the other, guessing her, "--we must analyze and then you will have to decide. 


The young girl began to read. Suddenly the Great Sun took a bow and arrow, causing Xixata to remain in sudden silence, while paralyzed she watched her grandfather's action. 


He stepped violently to the edge of the throne and shot without a fixed target at the prostrate bowers below. 


--Silence, you imbeciles! Don't let my granddaughter concentrate," --shouted the dangerous madman. 


A heavy silence followed. After a while the corpse of one of the petitioners was carefully removed.
