Volume 2: Vlad, Chapter 1: The Rise of Dracul

The kingdom of Wallachia had a long history of prosperity. Shelter was easy to come by and the basic necessities of life were easily met. The arts thrived and the technological advances of the people were quickly making them the envy of the world over. Mountains surrounded Wallachia's borders, offering a natural barrier to any army that would otherwise attempt to conquer these lands. If someone was able to traverse the treacherous passes leading into the kingdom, they were welcome with open arms into the land of many riches. Many Wallachians took great pride in their home and lived happy and peaceful lives in such a prosperous land.

Everything changed when Dracul was crowned king. Dracul was a greedy fiend who lusted for even more power and wealth than what he already possessed. He had dreams of expansion for the small kingdom, and his thirst for gold could not be quenched. It did not take long for him to earn the animosity of his people.
