Chapter 48: Catch the bouquet !

The man with the wheel passed across them on a terrible speed.

Myra was still lost and shocked by the sudden hug that told how much Leo cared about her.

When the man was gone Leo looked at Myra and just realized how tightly he was holding her. While he was staring down at her Myra turned her head and looked up at him making their faces to get close with their lips just a short distance.

Surprisingly none of them moved and they stared at each other lost into the world of admiration.

She looked so beautiful just the way he looked handsome as well.

They were both lost into the world of admiration when Micheal and Agnes noticed them together.

" What are they on , We are on the way ?" Agnes mumbled.

Micheal even felt embrassed to watch them and cleared his throat when they heard him and came back to reality.

Leo released Myra and faced Micheal. Myra quickly tuckled the strands of her hair back to her ears with a red face and looked around to avoid their gaze.

" Come, Let's go.." Agnes pulled her away leaving Micheal to go with Leo.

They all arrived at the party, held at a small village hall on the island.

The wedding of Alex and Maya, was a low-key affair with a DIY buffet and drinks.

As they mingled with the other guests, Myra tried to avoid eye contact with Leo and had a good time with the rest of the women.

Leo engaged in conversation with the other men who were Micheal's friends.

The music was lively, and everyone was dancing and having fun.

While Leo was looking around he noticed Myra laugh and chat with the village women, he couldn't help but notice the way she seemed to light up the room.

She was carefree and joyful, and her smile was infectious.

For the first time, Leo saw Myra in a different light, and he found himself feeling a pang of admiration for her.

As he observed her from across the room, Leo's expression softened, and he gave a very small smile.

It was a subtle change, but it was a start. Myra, caught up in her conversation, didn't notice the smile, but Agnes, who was standing nearby, did.

She raised an eyebrow.

" Hmm, See the way Leo looks at you."

Agnes laughed as Myra turned to face Leo but immediately he looked away.

Myra knew that maybe he wasn't looking at her and continued with the conversation.

As the wedding came to a close, Alex and Maya prepared to throw the bouquet.

A tradition where the bride tosses her flowers to the unmarried women in attendance, and the one who catches it is said to be the next to get married.

Agnes, still under the assumption that Myra and Leo were engaged, pushed Myra forward, urging her to go and catch the flowers.

"Go on, Myra! Catch the bouquet!" Agnes exclaimed, giving her a gentle push.

Myra, feeling embarrassed and awkward.

"Agnes, I don't think this is necessary," she whispered, trying to avoid the attention.

But Agnes just winked at her.

"Oh, come on! It's just for fun! You and Leo are meant to be, I just know it!"

Myra sighed and then walked to them.

She wasn't dating Leo, not did she have a boyfriend.

As the other girls struggled to get the banquet, She just stood there, looking away, hoping to avoid the attention.

Maya finally threw the bouquet , But in a surprising twist, the bouquet flew through the air and landed in Myra's hair, getting tangled in her locks.

The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, and Agnes and Micheal beamed with excitement.

"See, I told you it was meant to be!" Agnes exclaimed, laughing.

Myra, on the other hand, was mortified. "Oh no, this is so embarrassing!" she cried, trying to remove the flowers from her hair.

" Everyone, Here is our next bride. And her fiancé is here.." Agnes pointed at Leo making all of them cheer.

Myra feeling embarrassed walked away to the washroom to remove the rest of the flower petals from her hair.

A few men went to Leo and congratulated him while the praised the beauty of his wife to be.

He fake smiled and when they were all gone his expression turned cold.

He couldn't believe that Agnes and Micheal still thought he and Myra were engaged, and the bouquet incident had only added fuel to the fire.

He suddenly begun pouring himself more drinks and took all the glasses in one gulp each.

"What's wrong, Leo?" Agnes asked, noticing his scowl. "You seem a bit upset."

Leo just shook his head, taking another swig of his drink.

"Nothing's wrong, Agnes. Just enjoying the party."

But it was clear that something was bothering him.

Myra finally came back and when Leo saw her he added himself more drinks.

"Leo, maybe you should slow down on the drinks," Micheal suggested, noticing Leo's increasing intoxication.

But Leo just waved him off. "I'm fine, Micheal. Just having a good time."

As the night wore on, Leo's behavior became more and more erratic. He was laughing loudly one minute, and then brooding in silence the next.

Myra noticed and went over to them.

"Agnes, I think we should get Leo to slow down," Myra whispered, tugging on Agnes's arm.

But Agnes just smiled. "Oh, don't worry about Leo, Myra. He's just having a good time. He'll be fine in the morning."

Myra wasn't so sure, but she didn't want to make a scene.

Leo drunk until he was wasted and slept on the table.

" Oh my, He has taken too much. Micheal, Please get a friend and carry him back home." Agnes suggested.

Micheal asked his friend Brian to help him support Leo back home.

The men picked Leo up holding his arms and shoulder and guided him back to Michael's house.

Agnes and Myra followed back while conversing.

" I wonder why he has drank too much.." started Agnes.

" I also don't know. But he rarely does that." Said Myra.

" Really ? But don't worry. They will take him back well." Agnes spoke trusting Micheal and Brian.

The two men took Leo up to his room and lied him on the bed.
