The Saiyans

A large-scale battle was being enacted within a space void of time and constantly illuminated. Not because there was a sun, but because the current dimension held different laws of physics from the earth that we were used to.

Two beings blasted through the starry skies with so much force that if it weren't for the special dimension they resided in, they would have shattered the earth beneath them. The pure shock waves would have caused buildings to topple and the eardrums of onlookers to shatter.

The two individuals were none other than the new Guardian of the earth and his son.

"Faster," Djin screamed as thousands of laser-like Ki blasts in his direction. Ducking and dodging, he waved every single one pointed in his direction like a snake.

Slithering through the Ki laser show, Djin was rapidly closing the distance. As he did, Ice switched from lasers and started to condense large Ki blasts into fist-sized explosive mines that scattered across the skies.

As his father got closer, with the snap of his fingers, the Ki mines exploded, causing Djin to go on the defensive, covering his body from the damage.

Ice then condensed two yellow Ki spiked whips in his palms and started to curl himself into a ball. Then, increased his rotation at the speed that made him look like a moving tire and launched himself at Djin who was still recovering.

Quickly approaching, Djin started to think of what actions to take next. Ice's Ki whips were enough to tear through his flesh and bone as if it was paper. It would even rip through any Ki shield that he would have created leaving him no other choice but to use magic as an option.

Djin then quickly materialized a Kachin shield that covered the length of his body.

As Ice made contact, he and his whips impacted the shield causing fiery sparks to fly in all directions, lowering Ice's rotation speed to a halt. He then jumped back as his father tossed the shield to the side and made two Ki daggers in each hand.

Djin then got into a combative stance, waiting for his son to approach. Then, Ice did, rocketing towards Djin with the intent to cut and slice. With every stab attempt, Djin slightly redirected the momentum of Ice's every attack.

Ice then aimed a deadly slice at the neck of his father, who then leaned back dodging, Giving Ice a powerful knee to the chin that rocketed Ice into the starry sky.

Trying his hardest to halt his momentum before his father could gain the advantage, he aimed his feet towards the sky, constructing a 3 Ki wall barrier that brought him to a full stop.

Witnessing Ice in the air, Djin began constructing two Saturn balls on each hand.

Seeing his father construct one of his signature moves, he decided to create his own.

Pouring all of his Ki into his hands, Ice then made an X formation launching his Ki blast forward. His yellow X-blast was gigantic, with the width of a mountain.

As Ice launched his blast, Djin did the same.

As the three attacks collided, a gigantic planet-destroying collision occurred which caused both parties to fly backward due to wind pressure.

Then, out of nowhere, Djin appeared directly behind Ice, catching his unbalanced self.

Ice, in turn, acted quickly, turning around with amazing reaction time.

"HAAA." Ice aimed for his father's head which Djin ducked. As Djin did, he wrapped his tail around the forearm of Ice, flinging him to the ground with unimaginable strength. The child hit the ground with such force that he bounced off of the ground like a basketball, rupturing his internal organs on impact, causing him to cough up pools of blood.

"*cough cough cough*" Ice struggled to get up. At this point. He had been beaten over and over again for the past year in the hyperbolic time chamber by his father. What was the reason? Because Djin wanted the best for his son.

Although unorthodox, Djin was constantly focused on being the best father that he could be. Whenever he needed it, Djin provided emotional support and guidance for his child. But in this world, emotional support wasn't all that a child needed to survive. He needed power. The power that would protect him from being enslaved or subservient to anyone. The power that would stop his potential empire from crashing down. The power that would instill fear into enemies and inspire allies.

In his mind, training his son to the absolute apex of power in this world was a gift greater than anything anyone could have provided. After all, Djin never wanted to see a moment in time where he would have to lose the person that he cared about most.

If Djin's immortality was true, he didn't want to have to worry about his child one day being deleted from existence.

And if it wasn't true immortality that he possessed, He wanted Ice to be able to take the place of himself in order to protect the legacy that he left behind.

He wanted his child to be able to defend himself no matter the circumstance.

… This is what Djin always wanted from his own father.

"Get up," Djin said as he stood menacingly over Ice. Ice while laying on his back, trying his hardest to roll over. All the strength that he had within him was siphoned during the duration of the battle.

"I said get up." Djin then punted Ice like a football, launching him a mile away.

Djin slowly walked over to Ice allowing him to gain his breath.

As he approached, He started to charge a red flickering Ki orb within his palm.

"Get up."

"I'm… t-trying." Ice struggled to speak. He was covered in scratches, bruises, and blood.

"Oh?"

With a frown, Djin then canceled his Ki blast then squatted, getting closer to his son.

"Listen…very…closely. Your trying isn't good enough. And it never will be. Is it good enough to say that you tried to save the planet? Is it good enough to say that you tried to save everyone you cared about? What does any of that matter when everyone you ever cared about dies? Your attempts mean absolutely nothing to an enemy when your failure is imminent." Djin said with an intimidating voice and lack of facial expression.

These words struck Ice's core. Within him, anger started to build. Using his tail, he struggled to roll over on his stomach. He tried his hardest to get up using all four shaky limbs to support himself.

"Actions speaks louder than words… This phrase is true… What is more true is, succession always topples failure." Djin then placed his hand on the enraged Ice in an attempt to calm him.

In truth, Ice had been growing at a phenomenal rate. Physically and psychologically. He had reached the height of 4'11. But that rate was nothing compared to the immortal Saiyan's.

Originally, Ice was born with an astronomical power level that even trumped Djin's power level of 11 million 3 times over. This was just how members of his race were. So at the beginning of their training, Ice was able to easily overpower his father with little to no difficultly… but that was at the beginning.

As Ice continually beat his father with lackluster form, he started to get more and more falsely confident with his ability, becoming arrogant.

Ice would display his power by doing things like only using his tail to defeat his father. Other times, he would use Djin as target practice in order to create new Ki-based skills. In a way, this type of training was beneficial to Ice, but what wasn't beneficial was the way that Ice had turned training into a game. Although Djin told him not to hold back, he wasn't referring to his tongue.

Every battle that Ice and Djin fought, Djin took it seriously as if it was a life and death battle. Ice on the other hand had started to joke at his father's dismay, commenting how slow he was and questioning who was who's father. Djin brushed these comments off. He knew that they were from a child who had never been humbled… and so, he allowed Ice to continue with his teasing.

Not once during the entire duration of the two being in the hyperbolic time chamber did Djin activate his Kaio-Ken. This was intentional. He didn't need to. He was only training his son. But as his tongue got sharper, Djin was definitely tempted but retrained himself. He decided that the chamber would prove to be the perfect opportunity to teach valuable lessons… and for the last year in the chamber, he had been taught lessons over and over again.

With Djin's new ability to see a person's power level numerically he got from Shenron, he was able to view his son's new power level of 45M, while he sat at 50M. His son now understood the value of training better than ever.

"Heal me." Ice said with his jaw clenched.

"No… were done for the day."

"I said heal me!" He said with anger and frustration.

Ice slammed his fist on the ground with earth-quaking strength as tears were coming down his face.

"Why?" Djin asked.

"I don't want to be weak… I want to keep fighting. I want to be able to protect what I care for. I don't want to be beaten this drastically anymore… It hurts… It hurts."

For a short while, The boy cried.

"I don't want to fail anymore." More and more tears started to flow, but his words were clear. He was ever so serious.

"Hey…" Djin was now slightly regretful of his brutality. Compassion started to consume his now Saiyan heart.

"Look at me…"

Ice hesitated but followed his father's instructions.

"You are a child… you still have time."

"W-What does that matter if I'm weak."

"Stop right now… You have to realize who you're comparing yourself to. I'm not normal."

"I know… but you said yourself that you might not be here one day. What if you died and it was just me to protect this planet alone… I'd be too weak."

"Woah-Woah-Woah. Three things, son.

1: I don't plan on leaving anytime soon so it is not in your hands at the current moment in time.

Don't worry about me leaving.

2: I said that because you needed a lesson in humility. You thought that you were invisible… no one is…"

"But you are… and I'm not." Ice stuttered.

"Hey, just because you don't have my ability to heal does not mean you are weak… I'm pretty sure that you are the only person in the universe your age at your level of strength. How much stronger do you think you'll be by my age, huh?"

"*sniff sniff* But you said there were people more powerful than you. How am I to face off against them with my strength." He rubbed his eyes and wiped his nose. Djin could only smile at him.

"Although there may be people who are more powerful than me currently, right now, I'm at a phase in my life where I'm in an incubation stage… and so are you… We have plenty of time to train. Look at my evolution… And look at yours. We are strong." Djin brought Ice in for a warm embrace.

While his tears dried on his father's clothes, Djin healed his injuries with magic.

"What was number 3," asked Ice.

"The third thing… You'll never be alone… remember checkers. You are the player and can always forge new kings, son. When we get out of here, I have someone to introduce you to… I think he will make for the perfect friend."

"Really?"

"Yeah… he's the same age as you too. I believe he's just as smart as you as well… he may not be strong yet, but with your help and motivation, he can be."

"*Sniff* Okay."

"I'm glad that you understand," Djin said while placing his hand on his son's head.

"Now… go get some rest. Well, be getting out of here when you wake up."

10 Months outside prior.

3 Saiyans were now sitting at a fire after a long and brutal drawn-out battle under a full moon. This was the 18th planet that they single handley conquered by themselves this month. They had more scars than they could count. They were currently surrounded by thousands of corpses of men, women, and children.

"18 planets… This is the 18th planet that he has forced us to irradicate within the last 5 years." Said a Saiyan standing at 6'7 with hair so long and wild that it made its way down to his feet. His armor was brown and black and he wore a green scouter.

"We're all aware." Said a bald man with a pencil mustache. His armor was yellow and black and he was even taller than the long-haired man, standing at 7'2. He had muscles upon muscles and a blue scouter. Anyone walking past he would be immediately intimidated.

"What do you care in the first place, Raditz. Don't you enjoy killing, you psycho?"

Asked the bald man.

"That's not the point, Nappa… We have colonized planet after planet. We've been through bone-crushing labor after labor… For his sick game!" Raditz clenched his fist in anger.

"We've almost died on so many occasions already… for what goal?" Asked Raditz.

"Because of Abo and Cado." Said the short man who stood at 5'7 with a pink scouter.

"Hm? What do you mean, Vegeta?" asked Nappa.

"Since their deaths, ours has been ever so immanent. They had the strength level of the entirety of the Ginyu force combined… after their death's their duties had been placed on us."

"For what reason?"

"To watch us struggle… to watch us suffer… to watch us dance. He is using us as a means to vent his frustration. It brings him joy."

Stated Vegeta as he took another bite out of the humanoid alien that he had previously killed.

"So… even though you know what's happening, you choose to be his subservient dog? Our prince is content with being a slave to the man who took everything from us?" Raditz asked.

Vegeta continued to eat and didn't say a word.

"So, you're okay with the fact that you're his little plaything… you like to be toyed with. You like to be treated as if you are lesser."

"Raditz," Nappa mumbled.

"Hehe… I get it… You don't care. The life of a dog is the condition that you were raised with. Why feel pride, when you can stuff your face with the food that your master feeds you."

"Raditz. What your mouth. He's still our prince."

"Prince of what? There is no Vegeta. Frieza destroyed it… all I see before me is Frieza's little bitch in Saiyan armor!"

"Raditz! Show some damn respect before I force you to! This level of disrespect is unwarranted, even for you." Nappa shouted. Raditz halted immediately, shutting his mouth preventing his vile words from escaping.

Vegeta didn't react. Through his years of battle experience, he had reached a level incomparable to his past self. Raditz's provocations meant almost nothing to him. Although all three of them had been put through hardship, Vegeta had benefited the most and could wipe Raditz out with a sneeze. But that didn't stop him from speaking his mind.

"*tsk* I grow tired of this treatment. We are the warrior race. We should be fighting… dominating… controlling in the name of our people…"

"You're right." Vegeta wiped his mouth.

"You asked me why I allowed this treatment of Frieza to go on for so long… I'll tell you. I allowed for this because we Saiyan's grow through trial… I know even you have experienced it." Vegeta said. He then stood up and began to pace back and forth.

"Each war that we have enacted with other races, we have grown stronger. My power level was something that would be laughed at… currently, I am at the level where I could put up a decent fight with the empire… Pay close attention."

Vegeta then began to focus as hard as he could.

"AHHHHHHH!" His power level skyrocketed. Nappa and Raditz's scouter began to go absolutely haywire.

"What?!!!" Raditz screamed while Nappa's jaw went agape.

"This… Your power level. It's Impossible!" Raditz yelled.

"Vegeta… How long have you been holding back?"

Vegeta stood still looking at the two while his aura raged like a violent fire.

"My power level has reached over 100,000."

Nappa and Raditz fell to the ground in disbelief. They couldn't even begin to comprehend Vegeta's strength.

"Behold… This is my power."

"With this… with this, we should be able to get revenge."Raditz.

"I can't help but agree with him. I think that this should be enough… With my power level of 40,000 and Raditz with 20,000, we should be able to end this hellish cycle." Nappa said with hope in his heart.

"Yes… I thought the same thing… but there is something that has me hesitating."

"What is it?" Asked Nappa. With such a power level, Who could get in their way.

"There is a rumor that Frieza has another form that is capable of multiplying his power level."

"Rumors? Are you seriously worried about rumors? If I had the power of your level, I would be kicking down Frieza's doors as we speak! Do you mean to tell me that rumors are what's stopping you? Are you dense?" Raditz said enraged.

"Your power level is astronomical! You could be… the-" Raditz was interrupted.

"Stop right there. I have not reached that level yet… from legend, it is described as a transformation… I have not unlocked any of the sorts. If I had, You would know…"

Both Nappa and Raditz became silent.

"This leads me to believe that there is a catalyst that I have yet to discover. Once I reach this point, then and only then will I feel comfortable with challenging Frieza."

"So what now then?" Asked Raditz.

"Well… Now, we should gain strength in numbers. We shall go to earth to retrieve you brother. Once we receive him, then your militarist strength will improve. If possible, after that we'll find turtles as well. Then, we'll retrieve my brother… although he wouldn't be much help. He will do in aid to rebuild the Saiyan Empire." Said Vegeta. His imposing power reminded them why he was the leader and not themselves. He had true power.

"Now… What was the name of the planet he was sent to destroy?"

"It was called earth. A little blue planet with no power level greater than 100."

"Good… then that's where we'll be heading after we report this planet to Frieza… Also, Raditz?"

"Yes?" He asked with a drop of sweat falling down his face.

"*Boom*"

Before Raditz could react, he was already vomiting up blood and the people of the planet he just ate. Vegeta's fist had almost impaled his stomach. Nappa could only stand on the sidelines in awe.

"*Bleh*"

"The next time you disrespect me on that level, the fact that you're one of the only surviving members of my race will slip my mind. Your brother will replace you if I so willed it to." He said while dusting his sloths off.

"Do you understand me?" Asked Vegeta

"Yes…"

"Excuse me, I didn't hear you properly. I asked you if you understand me?"

"Yes, Prince Vegeta."

"Good."

Nappa couldn't help but snicker at the arrogant Radtiz on the floor getting his just dues. After all, even though he was the weakest, he was the most sinful of them all.

Present-day

3 space pods blasted through the Earth's atmosphere in a chain formation.

As if it was a movie, These 3 ships came crashing down onto the land of a farmer, causing gigantic craters.

Hearing the commotion, the owner of the land built up the courage to investigate what was going on.

Arriving at the crash site, The farmer saw 3 strange individuals climbing out of a crater.

Getting out of his car, he readied his shot got that had been passed down from generation to generation.

In his mind, the worst possibilities were in his thoughts. What if they were after his cow? What if they wanted to bully him off of the farm? Take his house?

No. The nameless farmer was raised better than that.

"Ah… I'm absolutely starving." Raditz stated holding his stomach.

"You should have eaten before we went into status." Said Nappa.

"Well… I would have if I was hungry then… wait a minute." Raditz spotted an individual holding some type of barbaric-looking weapon.

"Well-well. Looks like my brother couldn't complete his mission… Lucky for me." He then walked up to the farmer grinning from ear to ear.

"I-I-I don't know what you want… but I don't have it. I suggest you get off of my land before this gets dangerous for the three of you." He said while shaking.

"Hmm." Raditz then pressed down on his scouter to see if his threat was worth noting.

"5? A mere rat dares to threaten me with a power level of 5? Hahaha!"

He grabbed his belly laughing.

"Hey… I don't know what's gotten into ya, but this is your last warning before I shoot."

Said the farmer in panic.

"Make it quick. I don't want to watch and take part in your sick and sadist games."

Said Vegeta.

"Ah… That's not fun." Raditz stated, slightly disappointed.

"I said stop!!!" The farmer had enough.

"*click-clack boom*" He shot his gun, hoping to end the intruder… the only problem was the intruder was still standing.

"What's this?" Raditz then crouched down picking up a piece of metal scrap, examining it.

"Was this supposed to hurt?" He said as he raised his brow.

"What the…" The farmer dropped his gun in shock. Who on earth were these people?

Raditz then crushed the bullet in his hand, turning it into dust. He then smiled.

"You're Gonna have to try a lot harder than that." The farmer didn't know what to do.

At this point, his instincts had kicked in. He turned around and ran for his life.

But before he could even move two steps, he had been picked up by the back of the shirt and lifted into the air.

"Huh?" The farmer panicked. He was moving his legs but didn't manage to go anywhere.

Raditz then turned him around to face the man eye to eye, then gave the man a devilish grin from a nightmare. Raditz then grabbed the man by the head once more, then opened his mouth as wide as he could, and then,

"*Crunch*" Bit into the back of the farmer's head like an apple.

"*Crunch*"

"*Crunch*"

Like a headless chicken, the man's legs began to run… but in his mind, there was no consciousness.

His legs shook… His muscles spasmed. It was like the man was having a seizure in Raditz's hands.

"*Crunch*"

"*Crunch*"

Raditz ate more of the forbidden apple until the entirety of the farmer's brain was gone. All that remained of him was everything below the shoulders.

"Would you guys like some? He's not that good… but he'll get you full." The other Saiyans looked at their companion disgusted. The reason being that there was an unspoken rule between them that they didn't eat anything that looked remotely like their species, Raditz didn't care. He was an animal.

"No… Clean yourself off in a pond. We'll go find Kakarot." Vegeta demanded. He and Nappa then flew into the sky activating their scouters in search of the highest power level.

"There… In the distance. One of 408 and one of 416. One of those has to be him." Said Vegeta.

"What approach do we take?" asked Nappa.

"Diplomatic. Let's try to be civil."

"Got it…"

"What is it, Nappa?"

"Well… I'm just curious. What would bring Kakarot to spare this planet?"

"I don't know… Perhaps he found a mate."

"The people on this planet look pretty Saiyan like… If we can breed with the females here… that means that-"

"Let's not get our hopes up. Let's save the questioning for Kakarot."

Vegeta knew what this meant. If Saiyans were compatible with humans, this meant that there was a possibility for bringing back their empire.

"Ahh…" Nappa nodded.

"Let's go to the 408 first."

"Hmm."

"Raditz, Nappa, and I are going to the 408. You check the other one and give us an update upon arrival." Vegeta said while communicating through his scouter.

"Copy." And so… The Saiyans went on their way.

Piccolo's heart almost exploded out of his chest. This powerful unknown Ki that he never experienced before… what was he to do?

.

Goku, Roshi, and Krillin were drenched in sweat. What were they supposed to do about the godly amount of Ki heading their way at full speed?

"Hey, you guys? What's with the long faces?" Asked Bluma.

"Dad? Are you okay?" Gohan asked while on the head of his father.

Goku with a serious face picked up Gohan, placing him on the ground.

"Gohan… Bulma. Get in the house now."

"Hey, what's the big deal Goku?"

Oolong asked playfully.

"Get in Master Roshi's house NOW! ALL OF YOU!"

Goku screamed which caused everyone to wince, What had gotten into him?'' He never raised his voice or even showed any emotion besides joy. What changed? They all were curious. But looking at the aura of fear that came off of Krillin and Roshi, they obeyed Goku's command.
