Chapter 21. Captured

Shawn awoke to a horrible pain in his stomach and head, the two places he was hit. Looking around, the boy found himself in a dark cave. He could hardly see but found himself without his usual shirt and pants and in raggedy ones. His necklace still hanging on his neck.

Shawn looked around before he called out.

"Hellooooo, anybody around?" Shawn waited a couple of minutes before checking his underwear to see if his storage bag was taken. Digging in his pant, he fished out his storage bag much to his relief.

Shawn opened the bag and tried to cut the cage by using his axe. Bringing the ax back as he swung it forward, a loud clang noise reverberated. Shawn was surprised because there wasn't even a white mark on the cage.

He slumped back in the cage after hitting each bar with no results. He put the axe away and put the bag of holding back in his underwear.

Sweaty and tired he focused on a lullaby that his grandfather would hum. Remembering his deep but warm voice, Shawn could feel his grandfather next to him singing.

"Hush now child for the darkness has come. Our spirits weary from the hollowed sun."

The lullaby put Shawn to sleep as he dreamed. He dreamed of grandpa, Tabitha, and all the warm memories that brought him joy. His dreams brought a smile to his face until he saw the disturbing old man, Sir Uris, staring at him hungrily. His eyes a blood red, fang's reminiscent of bats, his chest cut wide open but a slow beating heart rhythmically dancing. The old man smiled as he tore apart the images of Tabitha and Shawn's grandfather. Devouring them while they screamed.

Shawn could only stand there as the old man laughed. The creepy old man took a step forward, he then appeared before Shawn. His cold eyes focused on the boy as he grabbed his arm and yanked. Slowly, Shawn's arm was ripped from his socket. The boy wailed much to the old man's satisfaction.

Sir Uris continued to tear his limbs apart before decapitating him. Shawn awoke with a scream he had never emitted in his life.

"Ahhhhhhh, Ahhhhhhh, Aggrhhhhh" Tears and snot ran from his nose as he sat up. His eyes raised to find deep red ones watching him playfully. Shawn didn't know why but the dream still left lingering pain throughout his body.

The figure stepped forward and it turned out to be Sir Uris himself smiling. " We meet again boy, it must be the divines will for such a thing to happen."

Shawn could smell the blood on the entity across from him. There was no way it was possible for him to meet the old man again unless the old thing set his sights on him. Confusion clouded his eyes as question after question appeared. What happened to the people that kidnapped him, where is Tabitha, why wasn't he dead yet?

Sir Uris didn't need to look at the boy to know the questions he had. The cage in front of the boy opened as the old man walked up to him. Shawn got in a defensive position but was quickly held by the neck in front of the man before he could see anything.

"That wench gave you something I wish I could hold in my hand, but destiny is uncaring." The old man's nail elongated as he cut symbols on Shawn's stomach. Shawn screamed as his already bruised stomach was used as writing paper.

Once done the old man carried Shawn to a hole and just threw him down. Shawn was once again unconscious as he fell down the deep hole.
