5 pm
William stood in front of his desk and said,
"Let's took an early off today."
So, Matthew fixed his things and took his bag then frown when he saw William still standing close to his cubicle like he's waiting for him. He was taken a back when the thought tickled something inside him that he shrugged off immediately.
Just like he thought, William was waiting for him, then together they took the elevator down to the parking lot. He purposely let William walk a little ahead from him for courtesy, but both of them froze when they arrived at where William parked his car, since his parking space is near to the entrance.
William's car was painted with red, trashed, and the tires were purposely deflated. Matthew went at William side only to see the man's face, ashen and lips were trembling. This wasn't part of Matthew's plan but he doesn't have control over the other people who loathe the corporation. He supposedly feels happy about this attack, despite the tight security of the building, but he felt the opposite, he felt awful.
He pulled himself together and put his hand on his boss lower back to guide him to his own parking space. Then told William that he will give him a ride home. But William was still silent even after Matthew guided him to seat at his car's passenger side and after he put William's seatbelt on.
After a while, Matthew cleared his throat to hopefully caught his boss' attention who thankfully glance at him, still paled face. Matthew silently handed William his phone to input the latter's address for navigation so William won't get suspicious if Matthew drove to his place without asking him, since Matthew already knew his address from Zach.
When William inputted his address and handed it back to him, he silently drove towards his boss' residence. A few meters from William's house' village, Matthew notices a group of people holding banners and carrying trays of eggs and cans of paint waiting at the entrance. Glancing at the man beside him whose eyes were trained on the entrance, Matthew decided to drove away from the village.
William stayed silent even when he notices that they're droving away from his residence and opted to continue keeping his silence and just look outside the window throughout the drive. He only looked at his secretary when they entered a known condo building. Matthew wasn't oblivious to the other man's eyes that were trained on him when they entered the building and just focused on driving and on parking his car at his own parking space.
When Matthew turned the engine off and took his seatbelt off that's the only time, he looked at his boss who's frowning at him.
"Don't tell me that we're at your residence." William said.
"Then I won't tell you, Sir." Matthew grinned and joked to lighten their atmosphere and it worked when his boss actually smirked a little at him. Then they both went out of the car. Both of his and his boss' bags are on his hands.
"You should've dropped me off at a hotel." William said as his hand reached for the back of his head and his ears turned red.
Cute. Matthew thought, and he shook the thought off immediately. Oblivious that his ears were also red.
Matthew then guided William to his unit. Then, when they entered his unit, that's when Matthew realized what he just did, bringing the man he thought of all night, then regretted his decision. Fuck. Matthew never brought anyone at his place, may it be a woman or a man, so William were the first person Matthew opened his place to.
Matthew awkwardly led William to his living room and excused himself as he prepares for refreshments. After pouring two glasses of juice, he went to the living room and handed William a glass who uttered his 'thank you' awkwardly then took a sip.
"You can stay the night if you wanted, Sir." Matthew uttered after a while of silence. He saw on William's face that he wanted to say yes to his offer but he's fighting himself to say yes.
William was arguing with himself considering that they're not close and Matthew were an employee. Then he remembered his family trusted this man, and his half-brother assured him that Matthew is trustworthy and reliable so he looked at the man and awkwardly nodded his head.
"I'm sorry if I'm a burden to you. I'll pay you." William insisted.
"It's okay Sir, I understand your situation." Matthew assured his boss.
"You can drop the 'Sir' when we're outside of work, I don't mind." William said because he felt uncomfortable, when his secretary calls him 'Sir', of all the sudden.
"You can call me Liam, if it's okay if I'll consider you a friend? Since my friends calls me by that name." He added and smiled when Matthew nodded at him.
"Okay, Liam, then you can call me Matt." Matthew said and the two smiled at each other and comfortable silence surrounds them while they finish their juice.
"Thank you for earlier, Matt." William sincerely thanked Matthew who smiled not only at William's gratefulness but on how William utter his nickname-that he made up, just now.
After a while, Matthew asked William to stay at the living room as he readies their dinner, so William comfortably stayed and watched a show on the television as he waits for Matthew to call him for dinner.
William actually felt comfortable instantly at his secretary's place after Matthew did him a favor- saving him from the protestants at his residence, he wanted to ask himself the 'whys', but opted not to and just distracted himself on watching to keep his mind off of the things happened earlier.

When Matthew finishes preparing, he went to the living room and led William at the dining table. The two enjoyed their meal, since Matthew is really a good cook, and both unconsciously but naturally open a conversation about their common interests as they eat, keeping their topics off of the things happened earlier.
After dinner, Matthew cleaned their dishes while William was seated at the stool in the kitchen counter, sipping beer, eyes roaming around to look at Matthew's place as he waits the latter to finish tidying up. When Matthew finished cleaning the dishes then faced his boss in the counter, William asked him a question that he didn't think of earlier.
"Where will I sleep? Matt."
Matthew's condo has two rooms, one, his bedroom and two, the locked room- where he kept the files.
"You can sleep at my room, I have a spare room but I've used it as a storage for valuable things." He explained.
"Oh, so that's why the other room was locked." William said as he nodded.
"Where will you sleep then?" William asked him.
"Ahm, in the living room." He said.
"Are you sure? You can take the bed, you've done me many favors for this day already." William said, clearly worried of him. For the record, something tickles inside of him again. Must be because of sleep deprivation. Matthew thought.
"It's okay Liam, I know you're still startled, you should have a good rest." Matthew said assuring the other man who nodded at him that made him smile.
Matthew ushered William to his bedroom then rummage his closet to look for unused clothes, and undergarments for William to use. When he found what he'd been looking for, he handed it to William assuring the latter that it's all unused.
"I'm bigger than you, so it'll fit." Matthew mindlessly uttered the obvious which made William chuckled. Then Matthew caught himself admiring William more. He cleared his throat as he cleared his head and went to his room's bathroom to hand William toiletries he'll needed for the night. Then Matthew hurriedly excused himself after gathering what he needed in his bedroom to rest in the living room.
After washing up and turning the lights off, except the kitchen's lights to keep the living room lit with dim light, Matthew settled himself in the living room then William went outside his bedroom.
"Good night, Matt." William said and went inside the bedroom again.
Matthew laid himself on the sofa, closed his eyes with a satisfied smile and thought, this is not a bad idea after all.
