Chapter forty nine Fire

"Can I come with you, please, I could help?" She asks slipping her dress over her head while searching for her underwear. "Yeah…yeah sure," He answers searching for his keys to his bike, she then pushes her feet into her slippers, grabs her bag, ran her fingers through her braids, and ran after him through the door.

Twenty minutes later Caleb rides up to his front door, he quickly opens it and took her inside, then asks her to wait as he ran up the stairs. It was her first time inside his house and her eyes widen at how spectacular it was. Caleb opens Ty's door and saw that he had fallen asleep with his headphone on. He removes the headphones and shakes Ty. "Hey, wake up!" He shouts.

"What, what is it?" Ty asks sleepily. "Jess house is on fire, we've to go now!" Caleb shouts again and ran from the room. He ran back downstairs indicating again to Maya to stay where she was as he ran outside, open the garage door put his bike in, and back the Navigator out. "What's going on?" Janice asks in concern. "Jess's house is on fire." Caleb blurted out as Ty got in the back of the vehicle and Maya got in the front and they sped down the driveway.

Janice ran upstairs and frantically knocks on Mr. and Mrs. Jackson's door. "Jess's house is on fire," Janice said breathlessly as Mrs. Melissa opens the door. "Caleb and Ty are on their way over there right now." "Oh dear….um…asks Miss. Mona to watch faith for you, we'll be down in a minute."

Janice steps from the vehicle to a scene of total chaos, everyone was shouting orders and running around. The firemen were busy putting out the enormous blaze that was stretching towards the sky and some of them were trying to keep the residents out of harm's way. Jessica was practically rooted to one spot in shock as tears poured down her face as Ty kept his arms wrapped protectively around her.

She always left a spear key with her neighbor in case of emergency so they were able to save a few pieces of her furniture, Janice walks over to them and she could see the relief on Ty's face, he was very grateful to have her and his family there. He whispers a thank you to her as he continues to comfort Jess.

"She's a total wreck, her fiancé is in Montego Bay but he'll be here as soon as he can," Caleb said standing beside his parents. "Poor thing, well she can come home with us until he gets here, How's Ty?" His mom asks in concern. "He's hanging in there, trying to be strong for Jess," Caleb replies. "I wish there was more we could do." His mom said distraught.

"Well I called uncle Tony and told him to bring one of his trucks over here, so we can take the things they save to our house. Oh good, here he comes now." Caleb said moving away from them. "I'll help you son." Mr. Steven said following him. "I called Fabian, Anna, and Miss. Sandra in Ochi Rios and told them what happened. They said they will be home as soon as they can." Janice said to Mrs. Melissa as they watch the commotion around them. "Thank you, my dear." Mrs. Mellissa said squeezing Janice's hand.

The following afternoon Ty was on his way to the living room to check on Jessica and her fiancé and heard them debating about where they were going to live. She couldn't live with his family because they thought that she was beneath them and her family's house was too small to accommodate them but then he came up with a brilliant idea which made him turn back towards his room.

"Um…guys, sorry to interrupt but I think I have a solution to your problem." He said walking into the living room a few minutes later. "You and your family have already done enough, we couldn't ask any more of you," Jess said sadly. "Fair enough but I think the house that dad bought me would be perfect for you guys." "That house was a wedding gift from your parents….we couldn't....." "Jess is right, we thank you but it just wouldn't be right," Chad stated.

"That wedding is never going to happen and my dad has been thinking of putting it on the market for some time now so if you want it, it's yours." "We would love to accept but…" "Jess," He said cutting her off. "What's the one thing I've asked you not to do?" "Not to question your generosity." She said with her head down. "Good, now do you want the house or not?"

"Jess and Chad look at each other then back at him. "Yes we do but we can't just take it," Chad said. "Take it, rent it, or buy it, whatever suits you best." He said handing her the keys. "Now take your time and sort yourselves out, I need to get to my evaluation." He turns to leave but Jess stops him. "Wait, what evaluation?" She asks. "I need to be evaluated to see if I'm ready to take on my workload again." "Oh…okay then, good luck and thank you for everything." She said hugging him. "You're welcome I'll see you later."

Kayla was making a bottle of formula for her baby when her phone rang. "Hey Kay, it's Trish, I got your message, what's going on?" She asks. "Where the hell are you? I've been trying to get a hold of you for a week now." Kayla said annoyed. "I'm in Negril; remember I told you that my boss asks me to do a few nights in his friend's nightclub, I won't be back till next Friday, so what going on?"

"Ty gave me an eviction notice." She grumbles, "I guess that means he's still angry huh?" "Yeah, I guess." "Do you think you can change his mind?" Trish asks. "I don't know, I could try." "Then do it, how long do you have?" "Ninety days." "Then you have forty days to change his mind if that doesn't work, we'll go to plan B." "What's plan B?" "I haven't gotten that far yet, that's what the other forty-five days are for, so have you heard from Brandon?"

"No, I went to his house and his neighbor said that he still hadn't been back there so I went to the police station and report my car stolen, they said they would investigate but because so much time had passed they can't promise me a good result." "Well nothing try, nothing done right?"

"So, have you been back to the hospital yet? "No, I haven't why?" "He needs to be immunized Kayla, if he isn't he could get very sick and you need to be checked out as well." "They gave him an injection before he left the hospital, isn't that enough?" "No Kayla, you and he needs to be checked out by a doctor as soon as possible." "All right, I'll do it tomorrow, maybe, I can see Ty while I'm there," Kayla said rolling her eyes and ending the call.
