Chapter eighty one Red peas soup

Fabian was getting ready to go out when Caleb enters his room. "Seriously dude, you really need to spend more time with your pregnant girlfriend." Fabian laughs. "Don't you start with me too, mom has already ordered me to take her a bowl of her red peas soup in a few minutes," Caleb grumbles.

"But before I go I have bad news and worst news," Caleb said in a serious tone. "Bad news and worst news huh? Don't tell me, she found out you're tracking her and she wants nothing to do with you? Am I right?" Fabian asks trying not to laugh.

"Not even close and I thought I told you to shush about that," Caleb said narrowing his eyes at Fabian. "Alright, so what's the bad news?" Caleb handed Fabian his phone with the picture of a man wearing a neck brace. "I saw him today." "Wait, isn't this the same man you attacked a few months back?" Fabian asks.

"The one and only, he's now back on the street," Caleb said with disgust. "Shit, did he recognize you? Does he know you were his attacker? Fabian asks sounding worried. "Nope." "So what's the worst news?" Fabian asks running his hands over his face. "The fucker is still alive," Caleb said coldly. "Well thank God for that, at least I can breathe a lot easier knowing that I don't have a murderer for a brother." Fabian snaps.

"That's not good news for me, I wanted him dead." Caleb states. "Well it may not be good news for you but it sure as hell is for the rest of us and if you know what's good for you, you'll stay the hell away from this man, feel me? He hurt Janice, you hurt him, you had your revenge, it ends here, got that?" Fabian orders.

"And Caleb if I find out that you so much as look in this man's direction, you'll be the one wearing a damn neck brace, get that?" "Yeah, yeah, I got it man damn." "Withholding information from me again huh brothers?" Ty ask from the door where he stood listening to their conversation.

He entered the room, walk over to Fabian, and took the phone from him with a look that dared Fabian to stop him. "Why wasn't I told about this?" He asks looking at the photo of the man. "Damn it," Caleb swears under his breath.

"You were um…. It happened shortly after you came out of the coma…so um…we didn't think it was wise to say anything to you." "Looks uncomfortable," Ty said still looking at the man. "He got off easy," Caleb said sucking coldly.

"Well then even though I'm a bit upset that you both kept this from me for so long, I'm extremely grateful to you for sacrificing your freedom to defend the honor of my lovely wife even though she wasn't my wife at the time. It shows how loyal you are." Ty said patting Caleb's shoulder.

"You took revenge for all of us and you didn't get caught and ended up serving five to ten for attempted murder, so I'm going to go ahead with Fabian and say that this ends here yes?" "Yes, you have my word," Caleb said firmly.

"Good, now what's this I hear about you tracking Maya?" Ty ask. "He is because he doesn't trust her," Fabian said. "You just don't know when to shut up, do you?" "Nope and you can't make me." Fabian chides with a wicked grin. "That's a little extreme, isn't it?" "No it's not, listen I don't want her doing to me what Kayla did to you alright," Caleb said in a defensive tone.

"Wait, you're using what Kayla did to me to justify tracking your girlfriend?" Ty ask. "Yes and besides I know what I'm doing okay so just drop it." Caleb snaps. "No offense brother, but you have no idea what you're doing or how badly this could end," Ty said. "Well I'm not as trusting as you and I'm not going to sit around and twiddle my fingers and wonder what's coming next, the device will remain where it is, end off conversation."

"Fine as long as you're prepared to accept the consequences of your action, then I've nothing else to say on the subject," Ty said. "Good as I said, I got this." He said and turns to leave. "Drive safely brother," Fabian said laughing. "Go to hell brother," Caleb shouts back. "You do know this isn't going to end well right?" Ty ask. "I know." Fabian snorts.
