Chapter 137 Cheque

As soon as the ladies left Janice immediately began looking for her phone on the bed but what she found instead made her eyes bulge and her jaw drops in shock. Because on the bed where she had dropped it before running after Ty was the piece of paper he had so lovingly placed in her hand.

Only it wasn't just any piece of paper but a cheque and on it was written five hundred thousand dollars. But then her shock was replaced by great concern. He had never given her a cheque like this before. What if he had made a mistake? What if he had intended to take this with him but gave her the wrong piece of paper?

She again began searching for her phone and finding it under her pillow she quickly dialed his number, he answer on the second ring. "Hi, kitten." He answers softly. "Hi baby, where are you?" "Jason and I are getting ready to board the jet." He said.

"Are you okay kitten?" He asks in concern. "Me? Yes, I'm fine, well not fine because in a few minutes you'll be miles away from me but….um, I think you may have made a mistake." She said chewing at the inside of her mouth. "What kind?" He asks in a confused tone.

"The piece of paper you put in my hand earlier was a cheque for half a million dollars baby." "Oh, that wasn't a mistake kitten. That was my gift to you." "A gift? But why?" "Because I love you kitten." "But you've never given me a gift like this before, so why now?" She asks in a puzzled and unsure tone.

"Well, actually I have. This's the third time, the first two times I put it on your Master card but since you hardly use it, you never noticed." He laughs. "Oh, but baby you know you don't have to do things like this to prove how much you love me right? I already know how much you love me, Ty."

For a while, there was nothing but dead silence at the other end of the line but she could still hear him breathing. "Baby…please…..this's too much." Still no answer or comment.

That was when it hit her, a few months ago someone at work had said something upsetting to him but instead of getting angry, he became very quiet, and then he had done it again a few weeks ago when Caleb had used the 'f' word to him and now she was doing the same thing.

She was hurting his feelings by not appreciating what he was doing for her but still, this was a lot. "Come on baby you can't just put a cheque for this amount in my hands and not expect me to ask you about it." And finally, he spoke. "Is that what you're doing?" He asks. "What do you mean?" "Are you asking me about it or are you telling me you can't accept a gift I gave you from my heart?" He asks and there was no question about it, she had hurt his feelings.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. What I should've said was I love you and thank you very much." "Repeat the last part of that sentence." He orders softly which made her smile.

"Thank you, baby." She said looking at the cheque on the bed. "That's better and you're welcome by the way." He chuckles softly. "So what am I supposed to do with it?" She asks. "Your money, your choice." Was his response.
