Chapter 176 Mysterious Man

"You guys have been on this case for weeks now and you're telling me you still have no clue as to who beat Edward's ass? Are you guys serious right now?" Caleb asks in a stern tone. "Listen we've questioned every person we could think of, most of them from our family, and none of them are responsible for that attack," Kevin said.

"We think it was an outsider," Peter adds. "Well, if that's the case, then we might never find out who beat that shit to a pulp, alright, you guys did your best, now let's shift our focus to this mysterious man that's stalking Janice, I need to know who he is and I need to know now."

"It may help if we knew what the man looks like," Peter states. "Janice is the only one that has seen him," Kevin adds. "Then let's get over to the house with a sketch artist, she leaves for Atlanta in four hours and I need results, like yesterday.

"I may be able to help with that, seeing as though sketching is my passion and I was kind of heading in that direction anyway," Christian said from behind them. "You sketch buildings, not people." Caleb points out. "Have we met? I can sketch anything." Christian said proudly.

"Great, get on it then," Caleb said walking away. "Hey cuz," Christian said running to catch up with him. "Janice will be leaving the country in four hours. Why are you still here, half pint?" Caleb asks checking his messages. "Um…about what you were talking to the guys before?" "Yeah, you win some, you lose some, I guess. I would pay good money though to find out who beat that punk." Caleb sighs heavily.

"Well….. you can thank Jared for that." He said in a nervous tone. "Jared? Your Jared?" Caleb asks in surprise. "Naaah, why do you think he's responsible?" Caleb asks In a skeptical tone. "He confessed two days after the beating."

"Why did he confess?" Caleb asks. "Because I know him very well and I knew he was keeping something from me, so I told him to confess or else, he chose to confess." "Or else what?" Caleb asks. "Or else I would end our friendship." "Ouch, what was his motive?"

"He said he did it for Janice and you guys." "Alright, tell me everything he told you," Caleb said giving Chris his full attention. "Okay, long story short, when he learned about the kidnapping and that Edwards was responsible he was pissed but when he heard that the police couldn't link Edwards to the crime even though it was so damn obvious, he was furious.

He knew you guys would be just as furious and that you, especially you cuz would be going after him so he decides to get to him before you could, so he called a few of his friends and the rest is history."

"So he made the call from Europe?" "Yes, he said that sending outsiders to do the job would ensure that the attack couldn't be linked back to any of you. He knew that Edwards was a big business tycoon and that he was going to bring the heat of the cops on all of you and wow was he pissed when he couldn't pin any of it on you guys." Chris laughs.

"Yeah, so pissed, he came into the church with a loaded weapon." "Which was exactly what Jared wanted him to do, well, not to show up with a loaded weapon and shot someone but to make a stupid move so we could take him out for good, which was exactly what he did," Chris said with a satisfied smile.

"How did he know that things would go how he wanted them to?" Caleb asks. "Well he didn't but we architects were trained to think ten steps ahead of our clients, so I'm guessing that came in handy."

"All this time we have been busting our brains trying to figure out who was responsible and all this time, it was him? That pipsqueak? Did you know he was connected like that?" "No, I mean, I knew he had friends here but I didn't know they throw down like that." "Unbelievable, Where's he now?" Caleb asks. "Still in Europe but he'll be meeting me in Atlanta tomorrow." "Good, I'm going to need a seat on that jet; I need to thank him in person.
