Chapter 8: Examination Week

Narrator's POV

Today is the start of the exams.

Thalia and Zane went to school early to study.

Upon arriving, the squad is there already.

"Good morning. You're all early"

"Of course. It's exam week starting today," Elkie said.

"What about we go to the library to study. We still have time," Reese said.

"Ok," They all said.

"Let's go,"

And they all went to the library.

When they arrive at the library, it is packed with students already.

"Wow," Ronan said.

"As usual, the library is packed because it is exam week," Karina said.

"Yeah. Let's find a table," Elkie said.

"Oh, I found one. At the corner," Zane said.

"Let's go there,"

They all sat and started studying.

"Help me with this one, Thalia," Zane said.

"Ok"

Thalia teaches Zane, and they didn't know that all eyes were on them.

Thalia has an uncomfortable feeling, so she looked at the squad, and they are all looking at her and Zane.

"Why are you all staring?"

"Nothing"

"By the way. You two looked good together. Don't you think, guys?" Elkie said.

"Yeah," All of them said.

"Huh? What's wrong with you guys?"

"Thalia and I are just close friends and nothing more, ok? Right, Thalia?"

"Oh. Ah, yes"

"Ok," They all said.

After a few minutes at the library.

"Hey, guys. It's almost time for the exam. Let's go?" Karina said.

"Ok. Let's all go back,"

They all went back to their classroom.

"Good luck to us later!" Ronan said.

"Let's do our best," Elkie said.

After a few minutes, the teacher arrives, and they start to take the exam.

Fast forward, and it's the end of the first day of examination.

"First day of exams, done. I hope to see you tomorrow. Study hard," The teacher said.

"Uh! Thank God it's over,"

"That was draining"

"A great way to start the exams. Math"

"Taking the exam makes me hungry,"

"Let's all go eat outside?"

"Let's go!"

And they all went to eat outside.

Thalia's POV

I am in my room, studying.

I remembered what they told me and Zane at the library that we looked good together.

My heart is beating so fast, but I was hurt a little when Zane said that we are just close friends and nothing more than that.

I know that we are close friends, but I don't want to be just that.

I hope that Zane would have feelings for me, but I doubt it because I think I am not her type.

Stop thinking about that, Thalia, and just study. You have an exam tomorrow.

After a few minutes, someone knocked on the door.

"Yes?"

"It's mom,"

"You can enter, mom,"

"Are you studying?"

"Yes"

"Here. Have some cookies and milk,"

"Thanks, mom"

"Let me ask you something dear,"

"What is it, mom?"

"Do you like someone already?"

"I do"

"I bet it's the guy every morning. Am I right?"

"Why did you know, mom?"

"That was just a guess. So, you like him? What is his name?"

"Yes, mom. His name is Zane Mendez. We are very close. I wanted to confess to him, but I'm afraid to ruin our friendship, and I think I am not his type,"

"Don't say that. Just try to confess to Zane if you are ready, ok?"

"Ok, mom"

"Ok. I will not disturb you anymore. Study hard, good luck, and good night"

"Thank you, mom. Good night"

And mom left my room.

Narrator's POV

The next day, the exam is still going.

Throughout the week, they just took the exam.

"Thank God, the exams are over. I can finally breathe easily," Ronan said.

"I can now play video games," Reese said.

"That was a hell of a week," Elkie said.

"I hope we get good scores next week," Karina said.

"Yeah," They all said.

"How about we reward ourselves," Thalia said.

"Yeah. How about we go to the mall. Let's eat at a fast-food restaurant and go to the arcade after,"

"Call!" They said in unison.

"Let's go!"

And they all went to the mall to reward themselves for finishing the exam.
