His presence

Chapter 24: His presence

The Faynom World community had classified two kinds of players.

The first kind was the players you would see in every other game. They would speed up quests and enjoy the battles for the majority of their time. Their gameplay mainly was about fighting and picking up cool equipment.

The second kind was the players who invested themselves in the game and adapted to the new culture. The closest comparison would be the role-playing term. Still, those players rarely used the game terms, and even their speech was somewhat respectful and close to the Faynom World's customs. Those players were serious, and they lived a second life in the game world.

Those players took a great liking to the new world and its people.

Many of them wanted to leave their names behind in this world.

Each group had its own guilds, and both were troublesome to the residents.

Those players rarely talked with each other, and they would cooperate only when necessary!

It's been just three days, though, so many of them had seen each other in the beginner cities and other leveling grounds.

However, just after those three days, the event that united the two groups already happened.

That event began with the pyromaniac's invitation... or as memed recently, the William Wannabe's invitation.

-

"I can't believe it! You have spent more than half of your game money on this trip! What if that Monk Butler lied to you? You take our jokes too seriously, Rhett!" A lady with big beautiful eyes shouted at her friend.

That friend, Rhett, was the monster at the top.

His nickname was Tehr, and he currently sat with his eyes closed, chin high.

It looked like he didn't want to talk with anyone, but his mind was in a pretty chaotic state. All the laughs and jokes about the William Wannabe and the pyromaniac had made Rhett quite angry.

He was about to use all his feelings against the cause!

The other friend faintly laughed and said, "You haven't seen it, but the pyromaniac had made a topic on the forum. He invited everyone, and the location was the same. It's real."

"Oh... So Rhett was the first one to get an invitation! Isn't it too early to fight, though? We are all low-level..." The lady asked innocently, hugging her long staff.

She was a newbie in games, so her friend corrected her way of thinking, "Players tend to fight as soon as possible. That's just more fun, and we can always return with a vengeance! That's how you build drama and plot! Haha!"

"I don't get it..." She pouted and looked outside the carriage, "Eh? There are so many carriages and players going here!"

"Wait, really?" The friend looked outside.

His eyes widened at all the players going to the Jolni Province. If not here, why would they all go in the same direction and at the same time? That province was where the pyromaniac played, but would it be really worth going here?

After all, Reylin had just killed a few players, and that was all.

"Maybe Rhett is the reason... But it's still weird to see so many players. I guess they want to see the battle? It's like the first epic battle between the players, isn't it?" The friend thought of the reasons, but all sounded somewhat naive.

Rhett opened his eyes and whispered, holding all his excitement within, "It will be a massacre. They all want to profit out of it."

"Eh... I still find it hard to fight monsters, but you both kill players and monsters as if nothing. I might be too sensitive!" The male friend returned to his seat and complained a little.

"You aren't alone," His lady friend reassured him, but just a little.

Their journey continued, and soon enough, their carriage entered the Jolni Province.

Naturally, they weren't the only visitors. Many players from the closest provinces decided to take a visit.

Why was that so?

Because that looked like the first good conflict between players!

Both, Reylin and Rhett were crazy players who had shown enough madness! For many players, that was it. They wanted to be a part of this conflict and take either Reylin or Rhett's side.

However, a few players had other intentions.

At last, Rhett arrived at the appointed meeting, and his eyes widened as he found Reylin playing with the fire near the tree.

This time, the pyromaniac was careful, and no flames touched nature.

"William's Wannabe!" Rhett shouted, then turned his stream on, "I like screaming! I like shouting! I like singing! For karaoke, I will split you apart in this game! Fight me!" He took out his ax from the inventory, then pointed it at the pyromaniac.

Reylin flicked his fingers, and the flames dispersed.

He stopped leaning on the tree and strutted toward Rhett, "Are you streaming now? You stopped for a little, so I guess you must have started the stream. Well, I am also having some fun with that device.

Why, though? Well, well. I want to make a short statement, you know?"

"What statement?" Rhett asked loudly, not expecting Reylin to be this calm.

"All you have achieved in your life is top 1 in the game. It's not even worldwide, if I am correct. But even if it is, who are you to challenge me like that? You've gathered some fanbase already, so you must pay for your public words." Reylin said.

He fished out the contract from his inventory and presented it before everyone! This contract wasn't streamed just on two channels, but many others as the crowd was big! The contract's clauses were tight, and no one could find a gap!

"This is a slave contract!" Rhett shouted.

The contract awarded the winner, and it was by making the loser a slave. That slave would join the party set up by the winner and work for him! It wouldn't be a simple party, but the party with the 100% exp ratio!

The loser wouldn't even get 1% of EXP by killing monsters, and all would go to the winner! Worse, even the dropped equipment and stuff would go to the winner!

For the whole month, one would be a working slave!

There was even a clause that would force the loser to log in daily with a fixed schedule.

Since Rhett was a student, and it was currently vacation, he would have enough time to give up on his life and... work!

Of course, that would be if he lost!

"Don't sign it! Rhett!" A lady's voice rang out from the crowd, but her words failed to reach her friend since the crowd was pretty loud.

Reylin spread his arms, and the crowd silenced, "It has my name on it already." He threw the contract for Rhett and looked at him with a sinister smile, "What is it?"

"..."

"You thought it would be just a simple battle? Do I look like a monster to you?" Reylin chuckled, "I am fairly handsome, and I wouldn't be surprised if I already got a few fangirls in the crowd. It can't be that I only attract weirdos such as you, can it? Anyway, there's just a handful of people that can casually call me out. You don't belong to such a group, and you probably never will. Sign this or disappoint the crowd that had come here for you."

Reylin attacked various fronts.

And though many had actually come here for Rhett, they slowly leaned forward to Reylin's side as he had The Crown's Presence. No one knew about him, his surname, and his background, but it reeked off naturally.

Reylin was also fine with streaming since he did it on his own and as Rey Flames Lin.

Nonetheless, on this day, his level and strength would get exposed.

If one moron could have challenged him like that, the others would follow, and many would have interpreted his silence in their own way.

But now, as Reylin took the reins, everyone could only listen.

That included Rhett, who gathered enough courage and stepped forth to sign the contract!
