When Thea was finally starting to calm down in gentle embrace of her Godmother and darkness of night was starting to fade. But, there was no sun in the sky going to rise that day. As her wailing had come to sobbing. Cold white light was taking place of darkness. Thea's eyes were bloodshot and swelling but there was no more tears to shed anymore. A cold determination was taking place inside her. she was remembering her teachings. Teachings that first her mother gave her as a woman, then her father as a warrior and lastly of her master as a leader. Thea was channeling her rage, her grief in cold determination. A determination to take revenge for her kind, her family, her friends. Everything she had lost just to those blood sucking parasites.
'Elves did no harm to them. They didn't attack Vampires nor they sported beast or humans. Then, why?' Her reasoning was getting flawed by the minute. The cold determination that was allowing her to regain her cool and strengthening her heart was also pushing her away from rational thinking. She was falling victim to logical felonies. She was associating the whole elven race to her family.
Minerva slowly caressed her head. She knew Thea good enough to know what was going on in her head. She was holding her for hours now. She knew they didn't have much time left. So, she braced her heart and readied herself to give Thea a last mission and hoped her apprentice would find happiness again.
"Thea, are you listening to me, child?" Thea nodded. And Minerva continued.
"Vampires are coming here soon and their king is with them. Oracles are going to take their last stand here today." Minerva paused for second, contemplating what the future would look like.
"I'm ready master and I'm not going to disappoint you. Those filthy perversions are going to know the pain. I promise you, they won't return alive from Mayarashi."
Minerva cupped her Thea's face as she moved back to look into her eyes and bring her apprentice to her senses.
"No, child you won't. You're no Oracle, neither in Oracles' forces. This is not your war to fight."
"How could you say that to me. Those despicable monster killed my entire family. Everything I held dear. I've no home to return to now. I've nothing left but fight. How could you forbid me to fight them? to take revenge?" Thea tried to jerk away but Minerva held tight.
"I'm not child, but your time hasn't come yet. Vampire King is stronger than you think. Even oracles might not be able to stop him as he is. And he's getting stronger. And he's not coming here for oracles but for you." Minerva took a pause as she stared at the white crystal necklace Thea wore.
Thea was confused and dazed. Her mind was at an impasse with her emotions, which were going from one extreme to another.
Thea tried to calm her down a bit before speaking again.
"Why?" was all she could say even after taking many deep breaths to calm her down. Minerva looked again in her eyes.
"Aegnor Houshold has a unique power in their blood. They are the closest comparison to royal family. They are... the reason for Vampire's existence and greatest deterrent against them."
Thea was dumbfounded by all these relaxation. was was her master saying? Aegnors created Vampires? They are deterrent again them? why? how?
"What do you mean by they created the Vampires?" Thea let out a outburst. Her master smearing blood on her family was last thing she wanted right now.
"Not created but the reason. It happened ages ago. But, we might not have time left for a history lesson my child. Hurry, we need to prepare. The prince has arrived." She cleaned Thea's eyes and then led her to underground floor of castle.
