After they got into the carriage and closed the door, the driver started moving towards the training ground. The three heroes were shouting and cheering in the back.
"Holy shit, how did you fool them like that?" Dean asked, nervously laughing. Adam leaned back in his seat, crossing his legs and smiling widely.
"Nothing special, I just showed them what they wanted to see," Adam said, his voice filled with pride and a hint of nervousness. He was proud of what he had done, but he was also worried about what might happen next.
"Anyway, it looks like the information in that book is real, and we can't stay here any longer. Now, how do we get out of here?" Jasem said, leaning forward and looking at Adam. Adam readjusted himself and leaned in closer to Jasem and Dean, so that the driver wouldn't hear what they were about to say. He started whispering.
"Tonight," Adam whispered. "But first, we need to learn how to use these skills that we have before we can run away." Dean and Jasem nodded in agreement, then leaned back in their seats.
"By the way, what skills do you guys have? I have the High Regeneration and Million Tongue that Oliver told us about. I also have two extra ones: [Telepathic Communication SSS] and [Shock Waves A+]."
"I wonder if I'm special for having two extra skills," Dean said, curious to see what his friends had. Jasem spoke up next, revealing his own skills.
"I have the first two skills you have, but I also have three extra ones: [Tough Body A+], [Unmatched Stamina A+], and [Diamond Skin S]." Jasem's words made Dean's expression turn sour, but he quickly smiled again, remembering that Jasem was always more athletic than him. The two of them then looked at Adam, who refused to tell them about his skills.
"Come on, what is it?" Dean asked, hoping that Adam had fewer skills than him. Adam looked away from them for a few moments, but they wouldn't look away. Finally, he gave up and started speaking.
"Fine," Adam sighed. "I also have the first two skills like you guys, but I have three extra ones: [Analyze SS], [Time Acceleration SSS], and [Time Stoppage SSS+]."
Jasem placed his hand under his chin, looking thoughtful. Dean, on the other hand, was upset. He crossed his arms and looked away from Adam and Jasem.
"Why am I the only one with four skills while you two have five?" Adam shrugged, not knowing the reason. He looked out the window again, but Jasem, who had been thinking about something, spoke up after noticing the high ratings of Adam's skills.
"The more important thing is, why do you have so many S-rated skills unlike us?" Adam shrugged again, not having the answer to that question either. Dean looked back at Adam and Jasem with envy in his eyes, as he was the only one with four skills.
After a few minutes of silence, the carriage came to a stop. The door opened, and a guard stepped out. He bowed to the three heroes and gestured for them to follow him.
The three heroes looked at each other, nodding in silent agreement. They stepped out of the carriage and headed inside together, determined to learn how to use their new skills.
After they arrived inside, Sir Halland was waiting for them. The three heroes stopped and greeted him immediately.
Halland nodded at them silently before turning around and walking as the three followed behind him immediately as he said "Good morning".
In a few minutes, they arrived at a large open area with many people training, which made Halland look out at them when they reached the center.
Heroes, we're going to teach you today, so please pay attention to what I instruct you.
They nodded at him after hearing that, which made Halland look at the guards at the corner of the training ground and nod at them, which made them come running with a barrel full of weapons.
Before we begin, pick what you feel comfortable with."
Three of them walked over to the barrel and looked around before picking up what they liked and returning to where they were standing.
With Jasem holding a sword, Adam holding a bow and arrows, and Dean holding a staff, the three heroes stood beside each other.
Sir Halland looked at them, his eyes cold and calculating. He drew his sword and started walking towards them, making them flinch in fear. They remembered what had happened the day before, when he had attacked them without warning.
Jasem took a fighting stance immediately, his muscles tensed and his eyes narrowed. He didn't know what this man was about to do, but he was not going to let him take them by surprise again. Adam and Dean, on the other hand, stood there shaking, their faces pale with fear. They had not forgotten what had happened the day before, and they were not sure if they were ready to face Sir Halland.
Sir Halland strode up to the heroes, his sword raised in front of him. As he did, a transparent energy field began to form around the blade.
"First of all, this is called Mana," Sir Halland said, raising his sword. "Every creature in this world has it. Now, I need the three of you to raise your weapons and do the same thing as me."
The three heroes looked at Sir Halland with ridiculous expressions on their faces. They were all thinking the same thing: "This guy sucks as a teacher!"
Sir Halland looked at the heroes for a few moments, his expression slowly changing from confusion to realization. He lowered his sword, his face flushed with embarrassment.
"Ah, it seems I forgot that you are new to this world," Sir Halland said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Let me start again. First, raise your hands in front of you."
"Now, I need you to close your eyes and feel the flow of mana inside your bodies," Sir Halland said. The three heroes closed their eyes and tried to do as he said, but they gave up shortly after. They didn't know what mana felt like, or how to feel it.
"I can't feel anything"
"Me too"
"Me as well"
The three heroes opened their eyes and looked at Sir Halland, who was scratching his head in confusion. He didn't know what to say. One of the guards who was standing nearby spoke up.
"Try focusing on your heartbeats," the nameless guard said. "That's an easier way to feel the mana source in your body." The three heroes nodded and closed their eyes. They focused on the sound of their hearts beating, and slowly, their bodies began to glow slightly. They could feel the mana flowing through them, and they were amazed.
Halland smiled immediately when he saw that. He looked at the guard who had spoken up and said, "Thank you, soldier. What's your name?"
"Private Zachary Edam of the 12th Battalion of the Royal Guards," the guard said, saluting Sir Halland. He put his hand over his heart and bowed his head slightly.
Halland nodded at him, scratching his beard thoughtfully. "At ease, soldier," he said. "From now on, you are responsible for their teaching."
Zachary's face lit up with excitement when he heard that. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and he was determined to make the most of it. He bowed even deeper than before to Sir Halland and said, "Thank you for trusting me with this assignment, sir. I will not disappoint you."
Halland nodded, then stepped aside to let Zachary take over. Zachary smiled at the three heroes and began his lesson.
"Now that everyone knows how to sense their mana, I need you all to raise your hands forward and try to direct the mana inside your bodies towards your hands." The three heroes nodded in understanding and followed Zachary's instructions. They concentrated on the flow of mana within them and slowly began to direct it towards their hands.
After a few minutes of trying, Dean was the first one to succeed. A small amount of mana appeared above his hand, but it disappeared quickly. He concentrated harder, and the mana reappeared. This time, he was able to control it, and it floated above his hand. Dean was overjoyed to see his mana floating, and he smiled proudly.
"I did it! I really did it!" Dean jumped up and down, beaming with pride. He showed Adam, who was still concentrating hard. Adam's face lit up when he saw Dean's mana, and he focused even harder. After a few more minutes, he managed to control his own mana, and it floated above his hand as well
.
"Well, that was easy!" Adam said with a smile, looking at the mana floating above his hand. He was proud of himself for succeeding, and he was excited to see what he could do with his new ability.
The two friends, who were happy about their progress, looked at Jasem. His face was red as he was holding his breath, trying to focus on his mana. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make his mana float. He was starting to feel frustrated and gave up.
"Hah, this is hard! How did you two manage to do it so easily?" Jasem said, looking at his friends who were waving their mana at him. They were clearly teasing him, but he didn't find it funny. He was starting to feel frustrated and left out.
"Just tell me already!" Jasem shouted, frustrated with how his two friends were acting. He was fed up with their teasing, and he wanted an answer.
"Just try to breathe while you do it, and relax," Zachary said. "Don't force it, just let it move through your body naturally." Jasem nodded, closed his eyes, and tried again. He followed Zachary's instructions, but the result was the same.
"Try and think about something that make you relax" Zachary said to Jasem, who thought about something he knew that would make him relax. He managed to move the mana toward his hand after and managed to control it on his hand like the others.
"Finally!" Jasem sighed in relief as he smiled, seeing the mana floating above his hand.
"Good, now that you know how to control and release your mana," Zachary said, "I need all of you to grab your weapons so you can learn how to use this mana with your weapons. It's important to learn how to use your mana in conjunction with your weapons, as this will give you a significant advantage in battle."
Zachary said to the heroes, who followed his instructions immediately. They didn't want to upset the people in charge before they made their escape that night.
