Welcome home...

After a long flight, Marcus helped me get my bags and carry them off the plane. Once we got into the crowded airport, he began to search around. He walked around a bit before he found what he was looking for. I looked over his shoulder to see a woman holding a sign that read, "Welcome Tyler!" across it. Next to her was a boy that looked to be around my age. This must be his wife and her nephew. As soon as she laid eyes on me, she slapped the sign into her nephews arms and ran to greet me. She pulled me into a tight hug. It felt as if she was trying to break my spine.

"It's so nice to meet you, Tyler! I'm Anne, your step-mom. When I heard that Marcus was bringing you to stay with us, I was over the moon with joy!" I just smiled and nodded as I tried to breath. I guess she noticed that I was about ready to faint and let go. I nodded my head as I tried desperately to catch my breath.

"It's nice to meet you too, Anne. Gosh...wow your really strong." with one last gasp i'd finally regained a normal breathing pattern. Jesus, was she trying to squeeze my soul out? She was beautiful. Her long dark brown hair lay neat on her back as her hazel eyes stared me down. Now that i've gotten a good look at her, i've noticed that she is short. She was about 5'2. Honestly no matter how pretty she is, she's creeping me the hell out.

"I almost forgot! This is my nephew, Alexander. The two of you are close in age and will be spending a lot of time together now, so I wanted to introduce you formally and as soon as possible. So~...shake hands." I looked up at Alexander who towered over me. He had to be at least 6'10. His semi-long brown hair covered his left eye and was pulled behind his right ear, as his hazel green eyes looked down on me. I had to admit that he was really hot. I cleared my throat and extended my hand for him to shake. He grabbed my hand and gave it a shake before letting go and nodding his head at me.

"Welcome home." even though he was looked as if he were sculpted by god, he gave off a sense of dread. I flashed him a smile and silently thanked him. After we'd finally finished greeting one another, we made our way out of the airport. Outside was a Black limo with a man standing at the door. When Anne and her nephew walked up to the limo the man opened the door for them and then waited for me and Marcus. I got inside and Marcus slipped in after me, then the man closed the door, walked to the front and got into the driver's seat. Inside, there were black leather seats and a glass case that held wine cups. Multiple rows of L.E.D lights lined the glass case that had a colorful bucket containing iced wine bottles. A T.V hung on the wall of the limo and L.E.D lights lined the the walls around it. It seemed as though we were riding around in a party. As I looked around I happened to take a look at Alexander. He was sitting silently next to the window. His hazel-green eyes were trained on the window as if he was trying to avoid looking elsewhere. I didn't want to take my eyes off of him, yet I also didn't want him to suddenly turn this way and see me staring. I forced myself to look away. It felt like we were moving outside of time. Why was it taking so long to get to this place?

"You getting excited or do you have to pee?" I looked over to my right were my dad was sitting. I rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms over my chest.

"Oh, look at that. You noticed me. Thanks for my five seconds in your grace, Marcus." he then rolled his eyes in return and leaned away from me. I ignored him and went on to pull my phone out. I was about to put in my passcode when I heard the leather seat crumple under wight next to me. I looked over to my left only to see Anne sitting next to me. Her expression said, "I care" but her demeanor and sudden appearance said, "I'm going to kill you in your sleep."

"C-can I help you with somethi-"

"Why do you call you father by his name instead of calling him 'dad'? I mean...he's your dad." she sounded like a teenage girl trying to gossip. It was creepy as hell. What would she gain from getting to know me? Why does a grown women know nothing about personal space? And how the hell did she get my dad to marry her?

"Honesty, I grew up without him so~ I don't call him dad. We don't even know each other. This is the first time i've seen him since I was little." she looked really shocked when I said these things. As soon as the words left my mouth she looked past me and set her eyes on him. I could feel how uncomfortable he was. So I was right. He never told her about me and my mom. Honestly, I knew that had to have been the case.

"You told me that you went to see him! Why wouldn't you go back!? If you didn't go then where were you all those times, huh!?" I knew she was shocked but I didn't know about this. How interesting.

"I did go to see him! His crazy ass mom wouldn't let me see him because I wasn't coming back to stay. I sent letters and tried calling, but she wouldn't let me near him. I couldn't do anything because she had full custody of him!" they both were leaning forward in their seats with me in between them. I didn't know what to do. Hearing that now after all this time made me sick. She kept him from me? He came back for me and she hid it from me. Letters, calls and visits that she never even mentioned. All this time I hated and blamed him for never reaching out and it was her. What kind of mother damns her child to misery because she couldn't have what she wanted?

"Did you really...come to see me?" everyone paused and looked over at me. He chuckled at patted my head.

"Of course I came to see you. I didn't want to just walk out of your life. I came back to take you with me, but your mom took me to court and they gave her custody of you. I'm sorry I couldn't get to you in time to stop her from ruining you the way she did." my vision began to blur as tears welled up in my eyes. I was so sure that he abandoned me. I wanted to hate him for it every second of everyday, but he didn't leave me on purpose. I could feel tears run down my face. How was I supposed to feel about him now? This doesn't change the fact that we don't know each other at all. Suddenly the limo came to a silent stop. I peered out of one of the many windows. The mansion was amazing. Marcus opened the limo door and stepped out and I followed. Anne and Alexander stepped out behind us. Anne grabbed onto my arm and hugged it.

"Welcome home, huney!"

"Wow."
