Epilogue

---------------------------------------------------------

After the death of Ethan Warren, Airianna ended Addie's life without a second thought. She had a gun she stole from the camp, a small pistol, almost looked fake. I could have stopped her but nothing in my entire well being wanted to even try.

We buried Ethan on that hill, laid out flowers and lit candles. I used to come out every week just to talk to him. Eventually we would bury the ones who hung from the trees there too, along with everyone else because we choose to believe they would have liked it.

Our group was left without a leader and I think we preferred it that way. Ethan was more than we deserved but the time of leaders is over. We're a community now. The gas station is a team effort no matter how shitty it sounds in theory. We love our home. We haven't said that in a while. It feels good to finally mean it.

I remember everything that happened. It always makes me cry but I think that's a good thing. It means I felt it. After everything we've all had to do, we're still the same kids that we were. Nothing can change that, for better and for worse.

We will all die one day, hopefully buried upon the hill next to the others. We're preparing for that day so the people who discover this place will be able to see its potential. But we're not dead yet. We still have a lot of work to do.
