24. Right People At Right Time

Alizeh's POV

I found Layla sitting alone on the bench and crying. I went near her. As if she felt my presence near her, she immediately wiped her tears and looked up at me.

"Hi"

I greeted with a little bit of hesitancy. I was clueless on how to comfort sad people. But when she smiled at me, I felt a little relieved.

"You are here! What a pleasant surprise!" I exclaimed hoping she would forget why she was sad.

Her teary eyes sparkled and her warm smile made me feel calm.

"We meet the right people at the right time, isn't it true?"

I nodded. Her words held some depth. The restless feeling in my mind was gone. I sat next to her.

For the rarest moments of my life, I felt there wasn't any need for words to be with someone. We sat together in the silence, under the hazy moonlight and beautiful stars. It felt more like a novel that I badly wanted to read ahead.
