Lisa's POV
My head ached when I woke up the next morning. It was all back. The dreams and their horrors.
I wanted to lay in bed but forced myself out when I remembered mom and I were going to see that witch today.
I groaned and walked down the stairs where mom was frying some bacon in the pan.
"Good morning sweetie." Mom said when she saw me coming in.
"Morning mom." I said kissing her cheek.
She smiled. "You look cheerful today. Looks like you are finally accepting this."
I shook my head. "Not yet mom. I just don't wanna be moody."
She nodded. "That's better." She said placing a platter of bacon on the table alongside scrambled eggs.
"Ann isn't replying my text mom."
"I understand dearie. You didn't lie to her but she feels you did."
I sat on chair."I don't wanna lose another best friend."
"I promise you won't. Now eat up we need to be there soon."
Oh yeah the witch i nodded forking a bacon in my mouth.
I finished having my bath when a text came in. I secretly hoped it was from Ann but it turned out to be from Damien.
' good morning love.
I smiled at the text.
' just waking up I'm sure' I texted back.
'😅 been up long '
' Laughing out loud.. that's fine.
' Do you have dinner plans?'
' I'm not sure I do.. why?'
' let's have dinner together '
' sounds great.'
' I'll pick you up by 7. Have a great day love.
I smiled and kept my phone back on the bed.

We arrived at the Southwest and mom parked the car in front of an old building. I got this ire feeling when I got out of the car maybe it was wrong coming here.
"Mom,"my voice was nervous." I don't think I should be here. Let's go home." I said.
Mom moved to my side and held my hand.
"We're here already Lisa. No turning back."
I gulped and followed her into the house.
The inside was a lot warmer and attractive than the exterior. I relaxed a bit and stared at the old paintings on the wall.
"I see you're fascinated by the beautiful work of Ann Nora. She was a beautiful witch in her time and had a peck for art."
I turned at the direction of voice. I was expecting an old man with long white hair but I was dumbstruck by the beauty this man possessed. He was young looking in his late twenties and had slick hair. He was beyond perfection and walked with grace.
He grinned. "Lisa,I'm glad to see you after a long time."
"Uh?" I stared stupidly at him. "How do you know my name and what do you mean when you said after a long time?"
He smiled and turned to mom.
"Mrs Seth please.." he said gesturing to a seat. Mom got seated but I wouldn't. I needed answers and now.
"It's fine Lisa he won't bite." Mom said.
"Don't worry, your mom knows me well I guess I'll start explaining." He said and I folded my arms across my chest.
He had this cool smile and smooth waves I doubted if he was a witch.
"I'm Derek Pierce and an apprentice of your father when he was alive." He said.
I couldn't believe it. No way.
"I was sent by my mother to him for training when I discovered I had magic and then I started living with him and mastering his ways. He was one of a kind."
I thought for a while. "You lived with us?"
He nodded and grinned. "That overweighted boy who ran around the house with you on his neck."
I blushed in embarrassment. I could barely recall him. He looked so different.
"It's been how long?" I asked.
"Fifteen years.. I left after your father died, you were five." He said.
I nodded and looked at him. He was doing same too and I felt something spark between us.
Mom coughed and I looked away.
"Now that you remember, let's get to why we are here." Mom said turning to Derek. "Lisa knows now that she's a witch."
He looked surprised. "Now?she should have found out as a young teenager."
"She seemed normal during her childhood." Mom said.
He looked doubtful and motioned for me to come. I slowly obliged.
He took my hand and closed his eyes then he opened them and let go of my hand.
"You didn't tell her the dreams you had seeing yourself possessing powers?"
I felt a cold chill down my spine. Mom turned to me with a questioning look.
I shrugged. "I thought it was too much movies."
"That was how it started Lisa. The powers your father transferred to you took course in that dream."
I shrugged. So he knew too?
"She can't control them. It's in excess including the ocean powers she now has." Mom said looking worried.
"She inherited the mermaid powers?" he asked.
Mom nodded.

Derek moved to another hall that was spacious and large. It had ancient weapons aligned on the wall.
"This," he gestured around. "is where we'll begin training. This is where you'll learn how to control and make proper use of the powers." He said.
I nodded meekly. I wasn't gonna argue,I've finally accepted that this was my life.
"Today we'll start just the basics,"he said standing in the middle of the room."show me what you got. What powers have you discovered."
I swallowed. I didn't even know when this powers come. They just activate. I swung my hand forward expecting to fling Derek over the wall but nothing came out.
I tried again but it didn't work either.
"I can't do this. I don't have any powers."I said frustrated.
He shook his head."you can Lisa you just need to focus."
I tried again but nothing came out of me. I raised my hand in despair." I give up." I said walking towards the door.
"Lisa.."mom called out.
I shook my head."I can't."
"So you just gonna give up uh?"Derek began." What will your father think of you now?"
My skin crawled and I felt anger boiling inside of me.
"Don't talk about my father."I said.
"I should Lisa. You are quitting already without much effort. What do you want him to think of you now."
"Stop it."I warned feeling my anger about to explode.
He didn't stop."he'll think you are such a big loser and he'll regret ever giving you those powers and..."
"Enough!" I yelled and with full force I had him over the wall. The new energy in me wanted to be released.
I rose him high in the air and threw him over the ancient weapons.
I wasn't done yet. I held him in mid air and with my other hand I was choking him right there.
Mom pushed me to the floor and Derek fell down.
My anger was yet to subside and I stood up with a new energy and raised him up in mid air again but he was quick this time. With a blast of wind he threw me on my back and sent a ball of fire my way. I screamed. Then he quenched the fire and it faded away.
He laughed."it seems emotions releases your potential."
I stared at my hands ohm my gosh I couldn't believe I did that.
"Emotions controls your power Lisa. So you need to control your power with your emotions."
I stared at him stupidly. What was he saying?
"That would be all for today."he said and walked out of the room.
Mom held my hand and saw the confusion in my eyes.
"You'll do just fine my dear."she assured.

I stared at my face in the vanity mirror and for a girl who always said she was ugly I was quite stunning.
I brushed my hair allowing the curls fall on my shoulders.
Mom walked into my room.
"He must be pretty charming for you to dress up like this."she said her eyes twinkling.
I gave her a nervous smile and nodded.
She kissed the back of my head.
"You very beautiful sweetie."
"I don't know mom,I feel my knees shaking. What if I ruin the dinner."
"You'll be fine baby believe me. That guy should be thanking his stars for bringing you to him. You are worth everything love."
I smiled."thanks mom."
I really wished I could be sharing this moment with Ann. I sighed. I hope we patch things up by the time I return back to school.
The doorbell rang.
Damien's POV
When the door opened,my smile immediately turned to awe. I was struck by the beauty standing in front of me. It felt like Ann Nora was reborn. The powerful witch I had met has a boy.
I held out my hand and she took it.
"You look beautiful love." I said and she chuckled.
"You don't look bad yourself Damien."
I grinned. "I've got my first compliment from you love." I kissed her hand and felt tingles on my lips.
She smiled and allowed me lead her to the phantom I brought for the night.
She let out a little gasp." This is the newest model of phantom Damien."
I grinned."what can I say?I have a good taste for cars."
She chuckled.
I couldn't get my eyes off her throughout the night and I couldn't stop telling her how much she looked beautiful tonight. I was glad she placed all these efforts just for me and no one else. I took her hand and kissed it.
She smiled."focus Damien."
I didn't let go of her hand."how can I when you are right here next to me."
We got to the restaurant I had reserved for us.
I had my hand entwined with hers when we got down from the car.
We walked into the restaurant and a waiter directed us to our table.
"What can I get for you Mr Luther?"he asked.
I smiled at Lisa. "What do you want love?"
She shyly looked away. "Whatever you want Damien."
I smirked.
Our order was brought to the table few minutes later.
"So,how long have you lived here?"I asked her.
"Few years now. I think it's been five years now." She answered taking a sip of her wine.
"Wow,surprising that I didn't meet you by chance around here."
"I wasn't much of an outgoing person I think." She said
I nodded." Tell me about your parents." I asked.
She inhaled. "Well I lost my dad when I was five,"
"I'm so sorry." I apologized. I knew how she felt since I had lost mine too.
She waved it aside." It's fine. Since then it's been I and my mother alone and we moved a lot. We never settle down in a place until now. This town fascinates her I think."
I smiled. "It has it own spec and beauty."
She smiled. "What about your parents?" She asked after chewing on pasta.
"You know about my father's death two years ago," she nodded. "Well he died from an heart disease.." I felt terrible for lying to her but I had no choice. "Then there's mom who doesn't live here. She's based in London but comes to see me as soon as she gets the chance."
"That's nice. What does she do there?"
"She's a fashion designer. She owns the river island label."
She was awed. "Oh my God, Lucien Luther is your mom!"
I grinned. "I figured out you'll know her once I mentioned her brand."
"And you just said it like it doesn't mean anything. I mean my mom loves all her designs so do I "
"I see."I said nonchalantly.
"Cmon."
I shrugged. "Yeah yeah. She's my mom."
"Any siblings?"
I shrugged. I didn't like talking about my half brother.
"Yes. He is older than me and he's my half brother."
"You make it sound like he's bad."
"We don't get along. Enough of my brother let's discuss something else." I said smiling.
"About?"
"Us."
Lisa's POV
"Enough of my brother let's discuss something else." He said smiling.
"About?" I asked
"Us."
I almost spilled the wine on the table. My knees were buckling again and my stomach clenched.
"What about us?" I asked hoping my voice didn't sound like a frog in my throat.
He rested his hand on the table and stood up.
"Let's go somewhere else." He said. I nodded meekly and picked my purse.
He entwined his hand with mine again as we walked out of the restaurant.
"Where are we going?" I asked when we got on the road.
"You'll see." Was all he said.
"Tell me please. I'm curious to know."
"Won't that ruin the surprise?" He asked with a smug look on his face.
I pouted and looked out the window. "Alright fine."
He laughed. "You look extremely cute when you make that face."
I slapped his arm. "Don't tease me."
He laughed again. "I'm not."
He parked the car beside a hill and helped me out of the car.
He discarded his suit in the car and was left with just his white shirt.
He pulled me on to the hill.
"I'm on heels remember?" I said as he pulled me.
"That can be fixed." He said letting go off my hand.
"No way am I taking off my heels." I pouted.
He grinned and within seconds he had me swooped in his arms and I gasped.
"Who said anything about you taking off your heels?"he asked grinning. My arms wrapped around his neck and he smiled.
"We're here." He said dropping me on my feet. I turned to look at where he brought me. It was Eden revisited. I gasped when I saw the lights of our city right below us. It felt like we were on top of them. Of course we were on top of them.
His hand wrapped around my waist and held me close.
"This is our city right in front of us."
"It's beautiful." I said still awed by the beauty of the city.
"You like it?" He asked. His lips close to my ears and I felt a shiver down my spine a good type of feeling.
"I love it." I said short of breath. "I never thought the city could be this beautiful."
He whispered in my ear. "Not as beautiful as you are."
I felt tingles in unlikely places.
